Zareth's Shocking Match.

The two participants were both in the ordinary vampire Rank.

Their fight was based mainly on hand to hand combat and the use of their vampiric energy.

After them, Lydia was called unto the Arena stage, her opponent was a girl with long blue hair, and her hair was reaching down to her thighs.

Taking a battle stance, they were both ready and eager to fight. The moment the sounds went off signalling the start of the match, Lydia ran forward, as she was good with close range hand to hand combat.

Covering her fists with pure vampiric energy, Lydia threw her left fist forward, aiming at her opponents gut. Ducking down ,the girl aimed her fist at Lydia's stomach, getting a clean hit in.sending Lydia sliding a couple of feet backwards .

After coming to a halt, Lydia began swerving from left to right,the whole time kicking the air.

She wasn't just doing this for the show. She was sending out condensed vampire energy from her feet, using it to attack her opponent with immense speed and force.

In an attempt to break free from the barrage of attacks Lydia was generating from her feet, her opponent lept upwards at the same time unleashing a wave of vampiric energy from her body.

The wave spread out, hitting the protective barriers of the stage, causing the vicinity to quake, seeing this, Lydia made a protective wall of vampire energy and also surrounded her entire body with a layer of her energy.

The wave hit the protective walls of energy Lydia had set up,breaking it to pieces it continued forward hitting Lydia with a great force.

Sending her flying backwards. Her back made contact with the invisible barrier, and she fell to the floor.

Dracula's voice finally sounded out in Elena's head, [ "weakling, if she can't even defeat this weak opponent, then she should have just stayed in her city, instead of enrolling in the academy."]

Elena couldn't help but laugh, "Why are you so grumpy?" She asked in amusement.

"I'm not. Can't you see the match has ended? And your friend here just lost the match." He said nonchalantly.

Elena was surprised at this revelation because the instructor was yet to end the match, even though Lydia was still lying on the floor.

Finally standing in front of her, her opponents sent out a series of punches towards Lydia, punching her all over her body. Lydia was unresponsive to the attack.

Elena was obviously worried. The instructor should have called off the match already, but he was taking his sweet time to do anything.

Elena couldn't do anything, at least until the protective barriers are taken down or the blue haired girl decides to call it quit.

Not wanting to wait anymore, Emiera quickly made her way to where the instructors were sitting .

Elena could see Emiera talking to the instructors with anger in her face. Clearly, she wasn't a pushover, and she would stand up for her friends Elena thought.

A few moments later, the alarm went off, and the instructor declared the girl as the winner, while the healing team moved in and carried Lydia out of the stage. Lydia was badly beating, with blood coming out from various injuries on her body.

It was a sore sight to see and an unusual one at that because, as a vampire, her healing abilities were supposed to kick in. But this time around, nothing of such happened .

Elena reminded herself to find out why Lydia wasn't healing later on. Emiera made her way back to seat beside Elena. She was obviously angry.

After the blood on the stage had been cleaned completely. It was time for Zareth to compete.

His opponent was the boy with the invisibility ability. His name was Sammy. Sammy was more in the short side, with his height at 5ft 3 inches.

Stepping into the arena, Sammy had a confident look on his face.

The moment the sounds went off, he turned invisible, this startled zareth, going against someone with abilities meant the person would at least be in the mage Rank.

The power difference between the mage Rank and an ordinary vampire rank was far apart. Moreover, of all the abilities, it had to be someone who could turn invisible.

This spelt doom for him already, or so everyone thought. Not having much choice , zareth erected an energy wall around himself. This time around, the wall wasn't a solid one.

The reason for this was for him to be able to detect any incoming attack from Sammy as soon as it made contact with the energy wall. since the wall was an extension of his vampire energy, he would be able to sense, feel, and control it at will.

Even though vampires have heightened senses, it will be extremely difficult to sense someone who has mastered the act of hiding their presence.

Sammy took his sweet time to attack. When he finally did, he sent out a punch towards the vampire wall zareth had erected.

The moment his fists came in contact with the wall, zareth could pinpoint sammy's exact location.

Without hesitation, he created 2 giant swords with his vampire energy before creating an opening on the wall, sending out both swords the same time, piercing through Sammy's chest and abdomen.

The next moment, Sammy's visibility returned. Blood was seen dropping down on the floor in quick succession. At that moment, the match had come to an end with zareth as the winner.

[chatter! chatter!]

All the participants were surprised at how quickly the match had come to an end. To be honest, no one was expecting the match to be long, but everyone was expecting Sammy to come out victorious.

Sammy was carried out of the arena by the healers . The next participants that would be going up on stage were Emiera and a vampire girl, with extremely pale skin. Even for a vampire, her skin was too pale.

As soon as she stood up, She heard Elena voiced out. "Good luck! Whatever you do, don't lose." She turned to elena with a smile on her face. "I plan to win!."

Lydia had already lost. Elena wasn't about to see another of her acquaintances loose to another vampire. Not that she cared much anyway.
