Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

Who is that? He looks vaguely familiar...

"What the...? Why are you here?" Frowned Miyuru, looking unusually serious and alert.

"No way...you're Thomas Grandel, aren't you?" Xandra's eyes widened in recognition.

Who? Wait, I recognize that name...yeah, isn't he a government official, one who's a part of the department that works with Unity? Yeah, I've seen him on TV, shaking Yale's hand at public events and stuff.

"I heard that you went missing about a week ago, but with no leads to follow, we couldn't track you down...what are you doing in a place like this?" Inquired Miyuru icily.

"Oh, good question. Why do you think?" He replied with a chilling smile.

"He seems...different to how he usually is," Muttered Parmila with a frown.

"Were you playing us this whole time? Well, fine, you're not an Alter, so I should be able to take you down before you can even blink," Declared Theo, stepping forward.
