Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

I pulled open the sliding door at the top of a staircase in the corner of the underground space, stepping out as I slid it open. There's a bookshelf on the other side of it, connected to the door.

Talk about cliche, a hidden entrance behind a bookshelf...well, whatever. I'll just leave this open for the police to find. I certainly wouldn't mind letting them rot down there, but the corpses of the Alter victims they were torturing, they deserve proper burials.

Hm? What's that sound? A high pitched noise is echoing out from outside...as I quietly walked towards the door of the room and opened it cautiously, the noise grew louder.

Those are...police sirens. The blast I used to burst through the floor, someone outside the building must have heard it and contacted the police. This is bad, I can hear the sirens ringing out from all around the building, they've got the place surrounded.
