Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

"You really did that? Wow, I don't know what to say...thank you, seriously, this is awesome," I remarked gratefully.

"Hey, don't mention it, it's the least I can do after you busted me out of prison. Considering the level of security we were up against, I'd have had no chance of escape if it wasn't for you," Replied Eland with a wry smile.

"Yeah, I guess that's true. Still though, this is amazing, I never thought I'd see this much money in my possession, I've just been scraping by on the bare minimum for so long," I responded in bemusement, staring at the screen of my new phone.

Today's the 5th of October, 2020, and it's been a couple of days since I broke out of prison and escaped with Eland. It still doesn't feel totally real, I'm half-afraid that I'll wake up in prison and realize that this whole thing was nothing but a dream.
