Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

Black Blood - The Alter World

I fired out a massively wide red beam from my forehead as the countless blades of water came rapidly shooting down towards us, as Theo raced away at top speed to evade the projectiles.

As my beam vaporized the projectiles zipping down in my direction, Theo raced up along the side of the building, a loud boom echoing out as he leapt off the wall straight towards the man, the windows by where he'd jumped off shattering as cracks spread out across the wall from that spot.

I then swiftly extended out a blood tendril, sending it zipping up towards the man as he raised his right hand in Theo's direction. I managed to wrap it around his wrist before giving it a swift, sharp tug, pulling him off balance as Theo slammed his fist against the side of the man's face.

A loud crunch echoed out as the man's head spun across sharply, a full three-sixty degrees, the skin around his neck tearing apart before he suddenly burst out several rapid slashes of water from his body.
