Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

"H-hey, uh, maybe we should save this for after we get back to the base?" I suggested as I pulled away to catch my breath.

"No way. I can't wait that long...let's keep going, we can head back afterwards," Responded Rende, putting her arms around my shoulders and pulling me back in towards her, pressing her lips onto mine and kissing me fervently.

"Come on, this is way too risky for my liking, I-...," I began as I pulled away again.

"That's enough talking...if you want this to end faster, then less talking and more action."

Today's the 29th of January, 2021, and I'd just wrapped up another mission along with Rende. Apparently, she's usually pretty difficult to send on missions since there aren't a lot of people she works well with, but she told Riley that she's fine with working with me, so I've been paired up with her on a number of missions lately.
