Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for... 

What lies in wait for him in this new world? Will he find peace in this world, or is he destined for something darker? What's the secret behind the power of his Black Blood? There's only one way to find out...

Come on, man, hurry up. I know he's probably going as fast as he can, but this current speed is less than a quarter of my full speed.

Karagan probably won't kill any Alters even if they attack him, but if he's pushed into a corner, he may resort to trying to possess one of them or something. That'd be a total disaster, I can't afford to let that-...hm?

My ears perked up as I heard a slight rumble in the distance, a few hundred meters up ahead in the direction that Yale was flying towards...that must be it.

I swiftly and silently unleashed a powerful flap of my wings, picking up my speed and shooting through the air towards the spot the rumble had echoed out from.
