Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

I slowly exhaled as the dust around me began to clear, before looking around with a satisfied nod as I took in the large crater I'd created all around me, before wincing in pain as the stab wound in the right side of my chest throbbed agonizingly.

Damn, that hurts...good thing this body has the power to heal itself. I'm not a big fan of how old it is, but these powers are great.

I touched at my neck as I healed the stab wound, grimacing as I felt blood...that was way too close, another second and he might've cut my head off. And I just got this head too.

I don't see any sign of him, nothing but a puddle of his Black Blood on the ground in front of me...guess even his immortality wasn't enough to survive such a powerful nuclear explosion at point blank range.
