Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

I raced away as a massive, swirling fireball came shooting towards me, evading it before I shot straight towards me opponent at top speed.

She swiftly unleashed a concentrated stream of flames from her mouth at me as I began to close in on her, before I abruptly halted and sprang off to my left, narrowly evading the flames before I zipped towards her.

I drove my fist forward with all my strength, a stifled gasp of pain ringing out as my fist slammed onto her stomach, before she suddenly grabbed hold of my wrist, tightening her grip around it and unleashing a burst of flames.

I yelled in pain as her flames seared the skin around my wrist and forearm, before I slammed my forehead onto hers, knocking her head back as a slightly dazed look appeared on her face, her grip around my wrist weakening.
