Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

"Hahaha, come on, let me slice you up!" Exclaimed my opponent, as he relentlessly swung his bladed arms at me, while I narrowly avoided his slashes.

Damn it, why'd I have to encounter him in this narrow hallway, where I can't make full use of my speed?

This place is too cramped, I don't have enough room to accelerate, it's taking all I've got just to evade...against most opponents, I'd still be able to manage, but this guy's pretty damn fast himself, he might have some sort of speed boosting power too.

It may not be as powerful as mine, but with my speed currently handicapped by the lack of space, he's able to push me back.

Umeka turned invisible after he showed up and tried attacking him, but his senses are sharp too, and he was able to react and knock her away before she could land an attack.
