Following a miserable, wretched life and a tragic, untimely death, the protagonist finds himself reincarnated as a baby in a different world to the one he was in before. In this world, there are people with special powers, known as Alters.

However, Alters are a minority in this world, and are discriminated against severely. Initially believe that he doesn't possess any powers, the protagonist soon realizes that he has inherited an ancient power, a power that only one other being has previously possessed in this world.

Black Blood, the power that had originated in the Progenitor of Alters, the very first human to develop powers in this world, and from whom all existing Alters are descended from. 

Determined to avoid going through the strife and hardship of his previous life, the protagonist decides to keep his powers hidden and strive to live a peaceful life in this new world. 

But it doesn't last long, his peaceful life is shattered and he gets thrust into the cruel reality of this world, a world wracked with prejudice and conflict. And it soon becomes apparent to him, that any peace he had hoped to find in this world, he would have to fight for...

I let out a sigh as I approached the entrance and reached out towards the doorbell, pausing for a moment before taking a deep breath and ringing it. I took a step back after a few seconds as I heard footsteps approaching, before the doors opened and a familiar face poked their head out.

"Oh, it's you. It's, uh...it's been a while, huh?"

"Yeah, it has...it's good to see you again, Rende," I greeted her with a slight smile, as her gaze darted about awkwardly.

"Sure, likewise, I guess...so, what brings you here? I doubt you're just dropping by to say hi or whatever," She responded, briefly meeting my gaze before looking away.

"Well, um...I've been considering it, and I've made a decision. I'd like to join Amity, so, uh...yeah, that," I replied hesitantly.

"Oh, I see, okay then...alright, uh, I'll take you to see the boss, then. Follow me," She nodded, stepping aside to let me in before shutting the doors as I entered the mansion.
