It was fourth quarter Ryan had sweat beating down his forehead as he sat on the sidelines, he wasn't benched but since it was fourth quarter they were getting a break before the start of it, "Ryan, you are going to sit for the next five minutes. We need you fresh." Coach said to him.

He shrugged but caring as he took the water bottle he had set to the side, he was itching to smoke but because he was in the middle of a game he couldn't do it, which is why he started whistling. Coach was explaining to them who was going in for him and what he expected, they were up by six, and hopefully by the time he was back in it would be bigger.

Not that he held much hope for them, they seemed to go out of sync when they switched out players, don't ask him why but it was as if they were headless chickens running around out there. Maybe it had to do with Mike trying to show off for Jessica as he began to play as if he was he only person on the team, Tyler was no help either as he tried to show off his handling skills.

As he predicted when they went back out three minutes in Port Angeles went up five points, Ryan shook his head as he saw Mike and Tyler fight about it, not even fighting about the right thing though. No the two idiots were fighting about the other hogging the ball, they were saying that was what was losing them the game, coach was not happy about it.

He chuckled some when the ball was thrown in and lost moments later as Tyler taunted the person defending him just for the ball to be stolen again, "Get ready Ryan, you are going in. I can not watch this anymore." Coach said while walking over to him.

"Nope, you said five minutes it has only been three." Ryan declined leaning back into his seat more, the game really was not that important to him.

If it was before and he was not a wolf, then he would put more into this as he would be going pro with it, now though he really did not care all that much as his destiny was bound to be something way better. Although that did not mean he was giving it up, this was to help him have something to do in this world that did not deal with the supernatural, something that was just a regular human thing.

"What. Do. You. Mean. No?!" Coach said red faced as he turned slowly to look at Ryan with wide crazy eyes.

Ryan shrugged and watched the court as their center finally made a point, their first since Ryan went out, at least he was not trying to do anything fancy, but made Mike and Tyler mad at him. He could only shake his head seeing that, the other team was quick to return those two points though as they high fived one another.

Now purple faced his coach was biting his fist hard, it was clear that he was trying to not yell at Ryan since he would not go into the game, which Ryan was finding a little funny.

Sighing he decided to give the guy a break, "Alright, I am ready coach."

Letting out a breath he nodded them told the ref about the substitution, he called time.out shortly after when the Dragons once again scored on them, his eye twitching as they did so, "Mike, get out Ryan is going in for you." Coach yelled at him as he had been the worse out there.

Mike glared at Ryan as he walked past him, Ryan ignored him though as he adjusted his shorts before stepping out on to the court, walking over he stood near the three point line as the ball was passed to Tyler. Without Mike in to outshine him he showed off a few tricks before passing to Ryan who got open.

As soon as the ball touched his hands the defender was on him, he didn't have any trouble though as he faked left pulling the defender before he did a one foot fade away which went straight in. The crowd cheered as he began to back track towards the other end of the court, the person he was defending got cocky from Ryan being out which made it easier to steal the ball.

Since he was not running alone he passed it forward to the Center who was a few steps ahead, he got a slam dunk as no one was expecting the ball to had been stolen so he was alone. Their coach on the side seemed to be praying to the heavens since things were turning around, they were still down eight points though so they were not out of woods yet.

"29 Points, 12 rebounds, 11 assist with two steals. No wonder you were player of the game." Harry said with a smile as they all walked over to Ryan who was shouldering his duffle as he walked out the locker room.

"It wasn't much." Ryan said brushing it off, and it was not him being himself either, he really could have done better but chose not to as he really just wanted the W for his coach. They were now 1 and 0.

Leah rolled her eyes but smiled, "Alright Mr. Humble, mom is inviting you over for dinner. Are you coming?"

"As if I would ever pass up Sue's cooking."

Sue chuckled patting his arm with a bright smile, "Come along then charmer, I made spicy chicken curry and spicy mutton curry, with garlic rice along with naan."

Ryan's mouth watered hearing that, the woman should have been a chef with the skills she had, and she loved playing with recipes in the kitchen so much that she had no flaws in anything she made. He was even more excited now to join them for dinner and had no clue what they were waiting on.

"Down boy. You can eat when we get there." Leah said laughing as she patted his arm, Ryan could see she really wanted to kiss him though, which is also something he wanted.

Seth barged between them stopping it from happening, which was a good thing as he was still thinking about the talk he needed to have later with their dad, "Great game Ryan, man you need to teach me some of your skills. We might not have a team at our school but that doesn't mean I can't practice."

"Sure any time." Ryan said laughing as he ruffled the kids hair.

Seth grinned.

"Good game Ryan, glad I could come watch you were awesome out there." Jake said with a wide smile.

"Thanks man."

They all began to make their way out the gym and did not run into the Cullens, in fact until they reached outside it had seemed as if the Cullens had just disappeared but waiting not far from his motorcycle was Rosalie. Everyone else walked to their vehicles Leah getting in his mother's car while he walked alone to his bike stopping next to her.

"Umm, I just wanted to say you played a really good game. I enjoyed watching you play." Rosalie said with a nervous smile.

Ryan sighed, he saw in her eyes that they were a little darker then normal, and it was not from hunger either, it was from lack of being around her mate the lack of attention and connection hurting her. He actually winced seeing that, because he knew it was his fault for rebuffing her so much, and if she honestly was not a vampire being a normal human he would date her.

She mirrored her actress so of course she was a incredibly beautiful woman, any man would loved to get the attention that he was getting from her, hell some guys walking near them were staring. There was a small part of Ryan that hated that to, unconsciously his body moved so that they couldn't eye her like they had been doing.

"Thank you. Also thanks for coming, you didn't have to but I am glad you did." He said with a small smile.

A bright grin took over her face, "Well don't worry about that, I am going to be at every game. Although I don't care for sports really but if you are playing then I will be there."

He nodded as he got on his bike, "Well I should get going, I have a dinner to get to."

"Oh, okay. Have a fun night." She whispered her head seemed to go off into the distance as it seemed she was lost in thought about something.

He shrugged putting on his helmet and taking off soon after, Rosalie still looked lost in thought as she made her way over to where Alice was waiting next to a red car.

On the ride to the Clearwater house Ryan ran through his speech multiple times, he was trying to find the perfect words that he was going to say to Harry, Sue was easy. He got along with Sue so well he knew she would approve right away, and while Harry and him were close the man was still hard to read sometimes as he kept things close to the chest so it was up in the air with him.

Even as he pulled up to the house where from the looks of it just the family were there he still did not know what he was going to say, he could only let out a breath as he turned off the motorcycle and dismounted it. Meredith was barking from the front porch as Leah stood there with her, she also seemed to have a nervous expression on her face as she looked at him.

When he got closer she stopped him before they walked into the house, "What are you going to say? Are you going to ask before or after dinner? I think you should wait until it is over, but then again saying it mid meal would also help. I just know my dad but he is also hard to read so there is actually no way to tell if he would agree to this or not. Oh my gosh, what if he doesn't agree to us---"

"Leah!" He said grabbing her arm and stopping her endless rant, "Calm down, I got this really, let's just go in there and talk this out with him."

She took a deep breath before nodding her head, "Alright let's do this."

Together they walked in with Meredith following right behind them, 'You should push her down and claim her now Alpha before someone else. That is what French Fries did to me when he wanted me, of course he had to earn it though. Have you earned it?'

The sound of Meredith's inquiry made his left eye twitch and the end was of course to much information but he did not react otherwise as they made their way to the kitchen.
