Ryan threw the last piece of the vampires that attacked them into the barrel that was burning, he sighed as he held Leah close to his side, she was still a little shaken from the attack at the moment. "So... Should we talk now or later?" He asked as the only sound was the crackle of the fire.
She shuddered holding his arm tight as she spoke, "Now, right now!"
At her urging he nodded, "So you're tribe has stories of the cold ones..."
"Holy shit! Oh my God! Those are real?! I thought those were just stories?!!!" She said connecting the dots immediately he really didn't need to say more for her to get it.
"No, they are real."
"So the Cullens in the stories then?" She asked her voice soft.
"Same ones we hung out with at the party with, yes. They are animal drinkers though, you can tell from their golden yellow eyes, while human drinkers such as these were red." He explained.
She nodded pulling back some she looked at his eyes, "A-are you one too? Is that why your eyes are red?"
He couldn't help but laugh, though he knew it was a good question seeing as his eyes were close to theirs, his though were just a natural born thing though he didn't think that it was anything else. Seeing her look he answered, "No I am not. They are called cold ones for a reason, their skin is ice cold and hard as stone. Have you felt that from me?"
She shook her head, "Then what are you? If you aren't a vampire, what are you? There is no way a normal human could handle a vampire the way you did."
He nodded, "How about I show you instead?"
She nodded quickly.
He took her back to the car and they took off, she was still shaken some so he held her hand the entire way, it was normal for her to feel the way she was feeling, without him, she could have died tonight. There is also the fact that her world view was shaken, stories she had taken as just stories are now alive, there is now way to take it easy
He has had years to know this and adjust to the thought that something out there could kill him, while it was not a happy thought it one he had to live with until the system helped him out with that. Now his biggest problem was dating, because really everything else could be figured out, his life was actually aot easier being a wolf since he no longer worried.
Of course he still didn't know how he was effected by some vampire powers, but until he crossed that bridge he wouldn't need to worry about it, so he was keeping those thoughts out of his head.
They made it back to Port Angeles, but he didn't stop until they were half way to forks, from there he turned into the woods taking a trial further in, Leah did not even question it. When he reached the end he got out without saying a word and she followed him, they walked into the woods with her holding his hand going deep enough that a lot of light was blocked out.
The only real light was shinning from the moon which kept being hidden by the clouds that were in the sky, Ryan stood across from Leah who waited, "So you wanted to know what I am and I decided this was the safest place to show you.
Of course I could have shown you back at my house, but I thought this would be the best place for this. Are you ready?" He asked looking into her eyes.
She nodded letting out a deep breath, "Show me."
Ryan leaned forward kissing her forehead before he backed away letting her hands fall, he took a deep breath before jumping out just because and his whole body changed into his wolf form. His nine foot body stood towering over her, his fur was shinning some from the moonlight making him look more unique, his red eyes were glowing.
"Holy shit!....Ryan?" She asked a little nervous as looked at him.
He knew she probably didn't know he was in control, which he should have but he forgot, he walked closer to her and was glad she didn't take a set back as he walked closer. Leaning down his face went fight to her level, he watched a she shakily rose her hand to pet him, he allowed it as he nudged his nose in her hand.
She let out a breathless laugh before whispering, "Ryan, your a fucking werewolf, holy-shit!"
She was not holding back her curse words as she was surprised, he gave out the equivalent of a light for a wolf, which was nothing more then a deep growl which had made her glare at him as if she could tell, "How long have you been a wolf?" She asked stroking his side.
"Wait you can't answer that, can you? No. Okay then. You will answer everything I wanted answered, but for now I want you to cuddle with this form of you." Leah said while instructing him to the ground.
He went down willingly, she laid down his jacket which she had taken before his transformation, it was getting colder after all and the little one she brought was not enough. His body heat though seeped into her, he knew that because his body did run hotter when he was in wolf form, out of it he kept his normal temperature maybe slightly hotter.
They were enjoying themselves but before they could fully enjoy it branches broke, Ryan glared in the direction before calming down as the familiar scent of Meredith made its way towards them, along with a knew one. Coming out of the woods Meredith walked in her wolf form proudly, next to her was a much shorter wolf, which he had never seen before but it was following Meredith willingly, must be French Fries.
"Ryan...are we okay?" Leah asked slightly worried as she watched them walk to where they were laying.
He nodded his head that they were fine, he would rather explain it to her later when he was explaining everything else, he already knew they missed the movies he planned to take her to next. Meredith walked right to them before plopping down right near them, 'I see she now knows, good choice my alpha. Now all you need to do is make with her and everything will be complete.'
He only rolled his eyes at her, 'We are not just horny, I actually want a relationship with her.'
'Hmm, then you are different from French Fries here who wants me to have his pups.' she said while swatting French Fries lightly and from what he could tell was wondering what he did.
Ryan chuckled in his head but said nothing to that as they began to lounge with them, he didn't mind as Leah had calmed down completely and was enjoying her time laying in his side.
Eventually he had to cut it short as it was getting later and Leah still needed to be home, so if he was going to answer any of her questions he had to do it before her curfew, which from the position of the moon was soon. He gently nudged her with his snout which she got the message of, standing she watched as he transformed back into his human form.
"I wanted to get your questions out of the way before I had to send you back. You looked like you were falling asleep too so we needed to move along." He said to her questioning look.
"Okay. Well firstly, how did this happen? How long have you been one? Were you ever going to tell me about it? Is there anything else you want me to know?" She asked rapidly.
Ryan thought it over, he decided against telling her about the system though, she gained nothing from knowing about it, not like it affected her in a direct way anyway, it was more of just him using it. He would just explaining it in a way that would make sense, because he honestly did not really know how to tell her it happened.
"Well I know I for a fact I am not related to anyone on the Reservation, so that could only mean something else wanted me to be a wolf. What I couldn't tell you, but after knowing the existence of vampires, well I am not really complaining.
Of course I was going to tell you about this though, I just never wanted it to be so soon as I didn't want to worry you."
"Worry me! Ryan, this should have been something I should have known from the beginning, like really!?" She was exasperated as she looked at him with a frown.
He sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, "Well sorry. I knew it was wrong to hide it from you, but honestly I really was going to tell you about it. Other then Meredith," He gestured to said Meredith who was watching standing and looking at them, "So technically you are the first to know about this."
She sighed rubbing her brows, "Still Ryan, it would have been...What's wrong?"
Ryan had looked both left and right as he could hear the pack rushing at him along with what he assumed was the Cullens, he sighed as he didn't even realize that they were on the treaty line. He also didn't want them to see him here with the wolf version of Meredith or Leah, but it was unavoidable as they were to close for them to rush to his car.
He knew this was because they had all caught his scent from when he had changed knowing that his scent was different in that form, "We have company, and this was also something I wanted to avoid. I should have done this closer to Seattle and Port Angeles."
"What do you...." She broke off just as they all broke through the tree line each standing at least twenty feet from one another but all staring at them, "Oh."
