Sweet Blood (II)

"Are you… alright?" Kethan asked, his voice barely above a whisper as he kept his gaze fixed on her. His orbs were still crimson, but they weren't glowing like before as his hunger had been satiated.

Seraphina reached up and brushed her thumb across his cheek, reassuring him with a gentle smile. "I'm perfectly fine, Kethan. See? You didn't hurt me at all."

He took her hand, pressing it to his chest where his heart was pounding. "I… I couldn't have done it without you here, looking at me like that. The trust you gave me… it kept me from losing control."

Seraphina's smile grew. "You just needed to believe in yourself, Kethan. And maybe now you can see that you are stronger than you think."

He smiled back at her before placing a kiss on the back of her hand. He threaded their fingers together and just sat there in silence, but it was a very comfortable silence that was filled with nothing but their love and warmth for each other.
