I love your scent

"What are you doing? Let me go!" I gritted my teeth.

"Isn't this what you wanted by using your pheromones on me? Who would have thought the feisty Strawberry, can be this manipulative?" He sniffed, "I can't tell why, but your scent drives me crazy. Could it be because I love strawberries?" His tongue sneaked out, to lick my neck.

A shiver racked through my body at his actions.

"Your pheromones are getting heavier. Seems you are aroused." He murmured in a voice deeper than the one I'm used to.

"Let me—"

"Brys!"

Sky?

What's he doing here?

Storm turned towards the place his voice came from before he turned to me.

"See you later, Strawberry." He sniffed my neck once more. "I love your scent."

With a wink sent my way, he hurried towards the opposite hall, while I fell on the floor, with nothing to hold me up.

"Brys!"

Sky called out.

This time, his voice sounded nearer. I didn't say a word. I sat there as I tried to make sense of what happened minutes ago.

This wasn't how it was supposed to be. I was the one who was supposed to bully him, and not the other way around.

I touched my neck.

It felt like his hot breath was still on my neck.

"Brys!"

I glanced up.

Sky closed the distance between us and knelt next to me.

"Are you alright?" He touched my cheeks.

"Hmm." I forced a smile. "What are you doing here? Isn't it time for breakfast?" I furrowed my brows at him.

"And you? What are you doing here?" He glanced around. "Are you alone?"

"No, I'm with a legion of soldiers behind me." I folded my arms.

"Ray said you went to confront an Alpha. So, I thought....." He trailed off.

"You thought I was being bullied?" I scoffed. "Your imagination must be running wild. It's just like a series I once watched. It—" I gulped when I realized what I was saying.

"A series? What's that?" He tilted his head to the side.

"Oh, it's nothing." I chuckled before a frown graced my face. "Why aren't you affected?"

Unlike Storm, Sky didn't blink even with the heavy scent of my pheromones.

"Affected? By what?" He frowned.

"Can't you scent my pheromones?" I furrowed my brows at him.

"Your pheromones?" He squinted. "Did you release it?"

"Hmm." I sniffed.

Sure, there was a heavy amount of it in the air. There is no way he couldn't have smelled it.

He forced a smile. "I'm a beta, Brys. We can't perceive a person's pheromones until we are mated to them." He stood up. "Come, let's go for breakfast. Ray is waiting for you over there."

I took his outstretched hand and allowed him to help me up.

"Thanks for seeking me out." I beamed.

Though I tried not to think of the scene before Sky called out for me, I can't help but imagine what would have happened had Sky not come to my rescue.

Would Storm have bitten me?

I shivered at the thought.

*****

"Here." Sky gave me a foiled steak. "I managed to get the cook to give me some. Eat it before the teacher arrives." He gently ruffled my hair.

"Thank you," I beamed at him before I made to take a bit, but Ray beat me to it. He took the steak from me and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Ray!"

He hurriedly ate the steak before he faced me with a smirk. "Why? Do you think I will watch you eat without doing anything?" He looked amused.

"You—"

"It's okay. I still have more with me." Sky gave me another one. "Eat it before he does." He gave Ray a pointed look.

"I'm also hungry, why don't you give me one?" Ray narrowed his eyes at him.

"You have legs." Sky glared at him before he turned to face me. "Do you need another one?"

"Please," I grinned.

"He also has legs. Why did you get the steaks for him? I think you are treating him quite differently. Could it be that you like him?" Ray asked.

Sky froze.

He glanced at me before he forced a smile. "I don't know what you are insinuating, but I think you are hungry." He tossed one of the foiled steaks to Ray. "You can have it."

Ray took it with a smile on his face. "Goddess, I thought the teachers were out for our heads. The race today is the longest I've run all my life."

I rolled my eyes at him. "Says the boy who hid behind the large tree during the last race we had."

"Hey! I didn't hide there!" He pointed at me with his steak.

"Oh?" I pursed my lips.

Unlike the other days when we ran for an hour, we were tasked by the teachers to run around the entire school compound, thrice.

Goddess.

I swear, I couldn't feel my legs.

I had to crawl to get to class.

Had Sky not helped me, I would have still been at the damned bleachers.

Yet, the teachers claimed this was only the beginning.

As the contest is starting in three days, they are out to have our heads.

"I'm calling my parents over, should they ask us to run tomorrow." Ray groaned, "I can understand why Alphas and Betas will be asked to run that long. But we are Omegas! Damn it!" He hit his palm on the table.

"Eat the steak and stop spurting nonsense. Being an Omega doesn't make you soft." I glared at him.

Though I still feel the pain from the race, I won't show any of them how tired I feel. Being an Omega doesn't define me.

Luckily for us, we finished the steak right before our Forest survival teacher arrived.

"Good day, class." She beamed.

At 5'2 (1.57 m), she's the cutest teacher with her baby face, blonde hair which she loves in a cute pixie style and honey-brown eyes that makes you feel at home with just a glint.

Though she's an omega, she's one of the strongest female wolves I've ever had the privilege of meeting.

She won the first survival forest race in the entire academy. She competed against the Alphas and won by a long margin. That was why she got to teach us. She's one of the few women I look up to.

"Someone will think you have a crush on her, with the way your eyes sparkle whenever she's close." Ray leaned in to whisper.

"Is there anything wrong with that? Having a crush on your teacher is natural."

Who in this world hasn't had a crush on their teacher?

Well, aside from if you studied in a school with old ogres for teachers, that's it.

"You like her?" Ray gasped.

"Mr Wind!" She snapped.

"Sorry, ma." Ray apologized with a smug expression on his face. He doesn't seem as sorry as he sounded. Instead, he looked amused.

"Pay attention!" Miss Gabe hit her palm on the table.

"I will, ma." Ray sat up straight.

"Better." She turned, and wrote the topic on the board, while we all brought out our books.

"Before we proceed with the class, I have an important announcement to make." She kept the chalk on the table and turned to face us.

Everywhere became so quiet that you can hear the rustling of the wind outside.

"The students who are to participate in the three days survival training have been chosen." She grinned as if getting chosen was a good thing.

The race we had earlier, almost crippled me. And here she is, sounding excited as if we are meeting Santa Claus, or we are taking a trip to Dubai.

Oh.

I moaned.

I miss Earth so much.

"Students from Howl Academy will be joining us."

"What?"

I gasped, while the others murmured.

Sky relaxed on his chair, with an indifferent expression on his face.

"I understand your shock, but they had to join us since their forest isn't safe. Rogues have been spotted over there." She took a deep breath. "But that's by the way. As I said, the participants have been selected. Only two students from our class made it. One Beta and an Omega."

Phew.

Since it's only one Omega, there is a possibility Clint will be picked. Though he's an Omega, he's the strongest in the class. During the race, he was up to par with the Betas.

"Sky and Brys." She called out with a smile.

"You were chosen?" I gasped the moment I heard Sky's name.

"And so were you." He pointed out.

"Me? That can't be possible. How could I have been chosen?"

"Your name was called." He pointed out, and Ray nodded in support.

I turned, to see all the students staring at us.

"No, that can't be true." I shook my head. "I didn't even sign up for the class. It must be a mistake!"

While others signed up for it, I sneaked away. This way, should the results be drawn, my name won't be there.

But…

"Your name was found in there." Miss Gabe folded her arms. "You and Sky will represent the class. I hope for the best from you two." She sternly glared at us.

But my mind wasn't there at the moment. It was on the result.

How did my name get to enter the box?

Why was I selected out of all the capable Omegas?

Is my luck that bad?
