Sneaking through the halls

Storm's POV

As I watched him leave, it seemed like he took a part of me with him. Goddess, help me. I think I have fallen deeper for Strawberry.

"Man, I never knew you were this slick." Theo chuckled, "if I had known, I wouldn't have come in when I did," he sighed.

Yet, the glint in his eyes showed he was having fun. He doesn't look as apologetic as he sounded.

"Thanks, man, you were a great help." I lay on the bed and placed a palm over my face. "Why must you choose such bad timing?" I growled at him, still pissed by what he just did.

Had he not appeared when he did, I would have kissed Strawberry. Hell, it might have been the start of a relationship between us. But my stupid friend had to spoil everything for me.

"Hey, you can't blame me, man."

"Why? Had you not appeared, he wouldn't have run when he did. But you damned hell had to appear!" I gritted my teeth, pissed by my stupid friend. I have never wished to kick someone so badly.

He chuckled, "I never would have thought I will see you acting this way, Storm. Come on, you will still have more chances to kiss your cute Omega. You don't have to act like I cock blocked you or —"

"Get out of my room!" I growled at him. I sat up on the bed, and narrowed a glare at him, still infuriated by his presence.

"What? I just—"

"Get the hell out of my room!"

"Oops, the wolf is angry. See you later, Storm. Don't worry, I will make it up to you," he chuckled.

I watched him leave without saying a word. A time like this is when I wish I didn't have a friend. At least, not one like him. Had he not appeared, Strawberry would have still been in this room with me. He would have allowed me to kiss him.

I placed a hand on my lips, and gently caressed it, imagining his lips on mine. I wondered if it will be as soft as it looked.

However, there was no way for me to know that now, all because I have a friend with bad timing.

****

I didn't get to see Strawberry until two days later. I had a difficult time sleeping, so I decided to take a walk under the moon.

Compared to the Omegas' dorm, ours aren't guided by the teachers. They are more concerned about the Omegas, who are the sole target of the kidnapper that has infiltrated the school.

I glanced around the empty corridors before I hurried out of our building. However, at the last minute, I decided to go over to the Omegas' dorm, to check on Strawberry.

I haven't seen him in two days, so it made me wonder if my strawberry is okay. I need to make certain he's alright.

There are no teachers in sight. Yet, I hid in the shadows to prevent being caught by the teachers should in case they happen to be around.

I sneaked through the school until I got to the Omegas' dorms. I tried their front door only to discover that it was locked.

I should have known the teachers weren't taking any chances with them. They are trying to protect the rest of the Omegas from the kidnapper.

I glanced around the place until my eyes landed on the window not too far from where I was. If my memory served me well, the window leads to their restroom.

I hurried over to the window and slid it open. It's one of the windows in the entire school that has no bar on it. I peered into the night, and when I noticed that the coast was clear, I jumped into the building in one smooth motion.

Luckily for me, the toilet was empty. There is no Omega around, which means they are all in bed —as I should be. However, the thought of seeing Strawberry overrode the sensible part of my brain.

I slowly opened the door, and peeked out, to be certain there were no teachers in the hall. I have never been as afraid as I am tonight. Perhaps it's all because I have never done something like this before.

I know I don't stick to the rules, but I have never sneaked into the Omegas' dorms. Should I be caught, the punishment will be more because I'm an Alpha. I shouldn't be caught in the Omegas' dorm.

Yet, here I am, breaking the rules without feeling any remorse. I will willingly break the rules if it means I get to see my Strawberry. I don't care about anything else.

With the coast clear, I hurried towards Strawberry's room. The hall is silent, devoid of any sound aside from the squishing of my shoes on the tiled floor.

I removed the damned shoes and held them in my hands as I approached Strawberry's room. I knocked on the door and stood to the side to wait for an answer.

There was shuffling from the other side of the door before I heard the sound of footsteps.

"Ray, I swear to the goddess, if you repeat your shenanigans, I won't let you into the room again." Strawberry opened the door with a pissed expression on his face.

However, when he noticed me, his expression turned into shock.

"Storm? What are you doing here?" His eyes widened so large, it looked almost comical. For a moment, I stood like a statue and watched him.

Though he obviously woke up from sleep, he's still cute. With his tousled hair and puffy eyes, he looked so charming, it made my heart skip a beat.

What's it about Strawberry that tugs on my heartstrings? Each time I meet him, I always have this urge to take him into my arms, and….

"Storm? Are you okay? What are you doing here?" He got out of their room and closed the don't behind him before he folded his arms.

"Well…" I ran a hand through my hair, "you see, I came to check on you." I grinned, hoping he will cease asking about me.

"You came to check on me?" He raised a sceptical brow. "Why will you do that?"

"Well… What of your roommate? Isn't he in the room?" I peered at his closed door.

"No," Strawberry sighed. For the first time since he opened the door for me, I noticed how tired he looked. The heavy bags under his eyes showed he hasn't been having as much sleep as he should have.

"Where did he go to?" I glanced around as if his roommate will somehow materialize out of thin air.

"I don't know." He tiredly sighed once more, "he left, not too long ago. I don't know where he has been going....." He trailed off before his nose scrunched up. "Did you hear that sound?"

"Which sound?" I furrowed my brows. "Do you—" I paused. Though the sound wasn't near, I was able to make out the familiar voice of one of the teachers. "We—"

Strawberry opened his door and dragged me into the room before he shut the door. "Don't say a word," he murmured, so close, I can feel his warm breath on me.

My breath hitched in my throat. I gulped as I tried to quell the urge in me to envelop him in a hug. Up close, his strawberry scent invaded my nose, making it impossible for my mind to make anything out.

Goddess, help me.

If he doesn't move away from me, I might do something I might end up regretting.

"Shh."

As if he heard my thoughts, he moved away from me and leaned on the door.

I heaved a sigh of relief and wiped the sweat trickling down my face. Being close to Strawberry should be termed illegal.
