[Bonus chapter] Another Omega was taken

Bry's POV

After the almost kiss I had with Storm, I've been trying to avoid him. Ray has tried countlessly to know what was going on with me, but each time, I lied to him. I can't have him know that I almost kissed the same person I vowed to eliminate, for Brys' sake.

I was successful in avoiding him until tonight. Who would have thought the same person I was avoiding will come over to my dorm, to check on me?

Well, that's not the most pressing of my problem.

I moved towards the door, with my eyes plastered on it as I tried to listen to the teachers' conversation.

I felt stares on my back, and turned, to see Storm staring at me with an indescribable expression on his face. The hotness of his gaze made me shiver a bit as I wondered what was wrong with him.

Is he thinking of bullying me?

Why stare hard, though?

"A male Omega was taken." I heard the familiar voice of Miss Cupid. Their footsteps were light, but not light enough for me not to hear them.

"Do you know who he is?" Another teacher asked. The voice of the male teacher is unfamiliar, which could mean he's not one of my teachers.

"No. But I heard the sound. That was why I rushed over." They stopped in front of my door, "I thought I heard a sound from over here." Miss Cupid sounded puzzled. "Could that be my imagination?"

"No, I heard it too. Do you think one of the students tried to leave?" The other male teacher asked. He, too, sounded puzzled.

"The doors are locked. There is....." She trailed off before I heard a gasp. "There is a window without bars. Come on, we need to check on it. I will have the head teacher run through the possible things that should be changed in this school. We need to keep the Omegas safe as we try to uncover what exactly is happening."

"Hmm."

Gradually, their footsteps got faint until we could hear them no more.

Storm sat on the floor and placed his head against the door with a sigh.

"Another Omega was taken."

"Hmm." He nodded with his eyes closed, and his hands placed on either side of his body.

"You don't seem concerned about that!" I placed both hands on my waist and glared at him. "How can you be this less concerned?"

"You are safe, Strawberry. That's all that matters. As for the rest, I will leave the teachers to sort them out. It's not our duty to look for the lost Omegas. Let the teachers do their work." He folded his arms and peeked an eye open. "I'm glad you are still here."

My heart skipped a beat. The intense expression on his face made me blush. For a moment, I felt special.

However, the thoughts flew out of my mind when I recalled something vital. "Ray."

"What?" He groaned. "What's it now?"

"He left the room hours ago. He should be back by now, but he's not." I turned towards the door, hoping Ray might somehow materialize out of thin air or something like that.

"Where did he go to?" He rose from the ground and closed the distance between us. "Do you know where he went to?"

"No." I shook my head, "he just told me that he needed to sort some things out. He didn't tell me where he went or who he's meeting." I paced the floors, afraid of what I might discover.

What if something had happened to him? How will I cope? I felt like tugging on my hair, ripping it from its root, even. But I quelled that urge.

I need to get to him. I have to know he's safe.

"Fan?" I glanced towards the bed. "Fan? Are you there?" I called out to my system.

"Who are you calling?" Storm raised a brow at me.

The way he looked at me made me know he was trying to check if I'm okay.

I ignored him. "Fan, are you there? I need your help. Can you help me locate Ray? You like him, right? He has gone missing. You must help me look for him." I pleaded, hoping it will make him come out from wherever he was hiding.

Storm moved to stand in front of me. He waved a palm on my face with a perplexed expression on his face. "Who are you speaking to?"

"Uh, no one." I beamed when Fan came out from under the bed.

Figures!

I know he doesn't leave me each time he ghosts on me. Though he claims to be on holiday, I know he's not far from me.

"No one?" Storm turned towards the bed. "Why are you smiling, Strawberry? Are you okay?" He placed a hand on my forehead. "Why were you speaking to the air just now? Is everything okay?" He peered into my eyes as if he were trying to understand what was wrong with me.

"I'm good." I faced Fan, who was giving Storm the side eye. "So, can you please help me locate him?"

"What will I get?"

My little system folded his arms. Today his hair is blue, and the white gown he wore, made him look funny.

"You can kiss him." I discreetly motioned towards Storm. "Just a peck. He won't know—"

"Brys!"

I was startled by the call. This was the first time he has called me by my real name. He's always calling me strawberry this and strawberry that.

Hearing my name —though not my real one — in his mouth made me feel strange. It sounded odd.

"What's wrong?" I squint, trying to understand why he's shouting at me.

"Who are you speaking to?" He glanced around the room. "What's wrong with you?!" He touched my forehead, "are you in your heat or something like that?" He sniffed the air.

At the time, Fan pecked him on his cheeks. Storm's eyes grew wide. He swatted his cheeks as he frantically glanced around, scared out of his wits.

I couldn't help the chuckle that escaped from my throat. It was damned funny. The expression on his face made it difficult for me to stifle my laugh.

"What's wrong with your room, Strawberry?!" He growled as his eyes kept on darting around.

"Nothing, you are just feeling things." I turned to Fan, "you have gotten what you wished for, lead the way."

Fan nodded. He flew back towards Storm and placed a palm on his head.

"What are you doing?" I narrowed my eyes at him.

Seems he hasn't gotten enough of pecking the nonplused Alpha.

"Helping you out." With one hand on a bewildered Storm's head, he snapped his left finger.

Storm blinked. He glanced around the room before he turned to face me. "Strawberry?"

"Hmm." I winked at Fan, grateful for his help. Most times, he helps out when you least expect him to. But when you truly need his help, he will claim he doesn't have the means to help out.

Right now, I'm glad I don't have to explain anything to Storm.

"Where are we going? How can we locate your roommate?" He glanced at the bed.

Seems Fan only wiped his memory from the time I called out to him, which I'm grateful for. This way, I won't have to explain why he's in my room instead of his.

"Follow me, I have an idea." I opened the door for Fan, and he exited, with us close on his heels.

He flew down the hall, and I hurried to catch up with him.

"Are you certain about this? You can't tell —"

"Trust me on this, Storm. I know what I'm doing."

Well, I trust Fan knows what he's doing.
