Let's keep it secret

"I guess she left when she woke up." I shrugged before I turned to face him. "What exactly happened to you?"

"What of…" He gulped, looking a bit embarrassed. "What of Sky? Has he been here since I was..? You know." He nervously tugged on his clothes —Yesterday, Storm helped me change him out of the bloodied, torn one he wore when we brought him in.

"Yeah. He was with me throughout yesterday and last night. I guess they returned to their dorms to have their bath."

That was what Storm did yesterday. However, unlike today, he told me before he left. I just can't understand why they left without telling me.

"They?" Ray furrowed his brows, looking confused.

"Sky and Storm. They were here with me." I glanced at the door before I turned to face him. "They will be back when they are through with what they went out to do." I placed my hand on him, "tell me, Ray. What happened two nights ago?"

He pinched the bridge of his nose, "okay, I got a trail on one of the kidnappers. Most of them are Betas, with a few Alphas. Before you ask, I didn't see them. Their strong pheromones scent was all I perceived.

So, for two days, I've been tailing them, trying to get ahead of them. I was successful the night before the incident. I managed to release an Omega…"

"I can't believe you never told me all this." I felt betrayed. Even if he doesn't want to tell me about his activities, he would have at least told me about the Omega he rescued.

He sighed, "I apologize for not telling you, Brys. Next time, I will surely let you know."

"Hmm," I nodded. "So, what happened next?"

"I was trying to know their hideout, this way, I will alert the teacher of it." He leaned back on the bed and closed his eyes. "I was almost getting successful because the ones they sent out that night were all Betas. They can't perceive our scents, you know that, right?"

"Of course, I do. Weren't we taught about it in school?" It's part of the compulsory class we are all expected to study.

He nodded, "I was tailing them until we got to the place you found us. The female Omega was taking a walk under the moon, and —"

"A walk under the moon? By that time of the night? That's impossible. Have you forgotten how guarded the teachers are?" I folded my arms, with my brows raised in doubt.

I don't think someone can be out at that time of the night, just to take a walk under the moon. Had it been a full moon, I would have believed she went out to run under it.

However, seeing as there is nothing like that, it's worth a raised brow or two.

"That was what she claimed, but it's by the way. I was almost successful when she came out from the forest not too far from where I was. At first, I tried to hide, and watch things develop because I thought they might take her."

"But they didn't?"

"No. It was odd, I tell you. They only beat her up. When I noticed they might likely kill her, I came out of my hiding place, to help her out. And that was how I was caught. They beat and dumped her next to the tree before they faced me.

I don't know what happened after that." He shook his head, "I just woke up and found you here."

"How did you know the Omega was taking a walk? There was no conversation between the two of you, was there?"

"No, there weren't any. She screamed them out as she was beaten." He peeked an eye open, "truthfully, I thought they had taken me."

"Hmm." I placed a hand under my jaw, in deep contemplation. "Why did they leave you two behind?"

"I don't know." He pinched the bridge of his nose, "though I don't know what happened, I can swear, I heard a familiar voice before darkness overtook me."

"A familiar voice? That of the teachers or what?"

He shook his head, "I can't tell. I don't know if my mind made it up." He sighed before he closed his eyes once more.

I rose from the stool and placed my hand on his forehead. Though it wasn't burning, his temperature was a bit high. "Are you okay? Do you need me to call one of the nurses?"

"No, it's alright." He placed his palm on mine and peeked an eye open. "I'm glad to be safe and back with you. When I get out of this place, will you assist me in searching for them?" He peered into my eyes as if seeking any shadow of fear in them.

"Don't we need to tell the teachers? They will wish to know what happened to you, and how you were rendered unconscious."

"We don't have to tell them anything, Brys." He closed his eyes, "I think there is more to what's going on. Letting the teachers know will only put us in danger. For now, we need to keep things between us, okay?"

"But—"

The door to the room opened, and the two werewolves stepped in at the same time, with their arms filled with things they got.

"Okay." I touched his forehead before I sat back on the stool. Though telling the teachers seems like the best thing to do, I trust Ray has a reason for asking me to keep it a secret.

"Here." Storm gave me a wrapped snack, "it's still hot. The cook was kind enough to spare one."

I took the wrapped snacks from him with my brows raised. I don't know why, but I feel like the Storm I read about and the one standing in front of me, aren't the same.

Compared to the cold one I read about, this one is kind and considerate. He treats me well. Aside from the times he released his pheromones on me, he doesn't bully me that much.

"Thank you."

Sky dropped the things he got on the bed, in front of me, before he turned to Ray, who was now staring hard at him.

It's a wonder Sky has never noticed the way Ray looks at him. The love in his eyes, whenever he looks at him, is unmistakable, yet, Sky has never noticed it.

"How are you, buddy?" He pinched Ray on the cheeks, earning him a glare from the infuriated Omega.

"Hey! I'm sick, you know?" He pouted.

Gone is the Ray, who looked serious as he told me about the kidnappers. It's not a surprise that he's acting like a kid in front of his crush —to seem cute, I bet.

"You are not supposed to be sick, you damned Omega!" He pinched him once more.

Ray swatted his hand away with a glare, "don't you dare touch me, you bully!"

I watched them with a fond smile on my face. It will be better if they end up as lovers.

"So, did he tell you how he got to be in the forest?" Storm gently nudged my shoulder.

Ray immediately turned to me. The expression on his face is unreadable. I guess he's trying to know whether I will spill the beans or not.

"No, he didn't. He claimed he was on his way back from the library when someone hit him on the back. He doesn't remember anything else aside from that." I motioned towards the bed the female Omega was lying on. "What of her? Where did she go to?"

"The new principal asked to interview her. You are the next." Sky beat Storm to the answer. He sat on the bed and took a snack before he passed it to Ray.

"What? Me?"

He nodded.

"Why? What does he wish to ask?" I blinked as I tried to understand what was going on.

"No one knows."
