Arrival

(Dorrak POV)

I'd been woken up by Cythistia for my turn for the night watch, which was around six to eight hours long, which I didn't mind.

And so I went on watch, going round and making sure that nothing and nobody came close, I didn't want to be the one that went on a rampage this time. Mainly because I probably wouldn't be able to find them again in time before those little bastards ran off with the girls.

Though, I doubt that they'd be able to get far with Traytora before she let of another screech like that.

Dawn was upon us and I was now heading back to the camp, where we would continue waiting for Traytora to recover and for Cythistia's brother to return with an entourage to take us back to their capital, where they'd do God knows what with us there.

As I reached the camp, I noticed that Traytora had move her arms to cover her eyes.

At first, I was elated to see that she had come to but as I got closer, I noticed that she was holding her hands there for a reason. Her eyes were bleeding.

'Shit!'

"Cythisita! Wake up!" I called out to the stag futa, urging her to wake up.

She opened her eyes and looked over at me groggily, not understanding why I was waking her up so urgently.

She said in a sleepy voice, "Unn, what is it Dorrak?"

"She's bleeding!"

With that she woke up instantly, and came to my side equally as quick.

"What happened!?" She asked frantically.

"I don't know, I was patrolling the area and when I came back, she was just like this!" I replied, equally as frantic in my speech.

"What should we do?" She asked, clearly worried about the young snake before us.

"I don't know, I've never had to deal with something like this before!" I responded.

She also didn't seem to know what to do either, judging by her reaction.

Soon we noticed that she was becoming paler by the minute, probably from the blood loss.

"TRAYTORA!" I tried shouting to see if she'd respond.

She didn't respond so I shouted again to no avail.

Cythistia tried to shake her to see if it could make a difference, but again, it was to no avail.

"She's shaking." She said still holding onto Traytora's arm.

That's when I remembered that she could use nature magic.

"Quick, try using your magic to heal her!"

"I can't!"

"Why not?!"

"It's not attuned to healing but offence!"

"Why would you make nature magic offensive?!"

"Because my brother has healing magic!"

"SISTER!"

That's when we heard a shout coming from beyond the tree line.

"Brother!?" Cythistia cried out, quickly standing up and running towards the place she heard her brothers voice from.

"Brother come quick! I need you help!"

I heard rustling and the sound of someone dashing towards us, and from out of the trees came Cythistia's brother, the other male stag that I'd seen on this journey.

"What's wrong?" He said in worry and confusion as he could see nothing wrong with his sister.

"She needs healing, now!" She continued shouting as she pointed to Traytora.

"Her?" He questioned.

"Yes, now!" Cythistia screamed at her brother this time, growing ever more worried about the little snake.

"But-"

"Heal now! Questions later!"

"O-Oh, okay?"

Still confused he came over to us and when he saw the state of the girl lying before me, he was shocked for a few seconds before shaking out of his stupor and started to us his healing magic.

He held his hands out in front of him, palms open, and said, "[Healing Aura]" And a soft golden green glow began to flow out of his hands and make its way to Traytora.

When it reached her, her eyes seemed to bleed less and less until blood stopped flowing entirely and only tears where coming out of them now.

It was concerning to see her crying like this but I think it was just because of the pain.

Soon her arms fell away from her face, either from exhaustion or from falling unconscious.

Shortly after he'd finished checking Traytora for any other injuries, he then sat down around us and said nothing.

Cythistia moved over to Traytora and carefully placed her head on her lap. This didn't go unnoticed by her brother, who's name I still did not know.

Eventually I couldn't take the silence and spoke up, "Sooo… what did the council say?"

"Hmm? Oh right, they said that they'd let you in to see you for themselves and give the final verdict then." Cythistia's brother replied. He then went back to glaring at his sister.

"Hahh, what is it? Brother?" She sighed.

"Don't 'Brother' me right now Cythistia, tell me what you're doing with that snake in your lap and why you seem to care for her so much." He retorted, demanding an answer to his questions.

"Hahh... Wy are you like this Kyristhus?" Sighing again she answered his questions, "This here, as you know, is Traytora, and she is the one who impregnated me."

The male stag, who I now know is called Kyristhus, just stared blankly at his sister, not knowing how to process what she just said.

"... WHAT!!!" He yelled loudly, having just processed what she just said.

"Don't shout! She's sensitive to sound right now." She reprimanded.

"Just... what happened when I left?" He asked, clearly too tired to care enough.

"Well..." Cythistia then went on to explain what happened from the night that he left, from the night she got pregnant, to the goblins to the shriek that Traytora gave out earlier.

"Huh, so that's what that sound was." Kyristhus said with a contemplative look on his face.

He sat there for a while, most likely processing the information given to him.

"Huhh... Well, I didn't expect you to get pregnant, and I'm sure you didn't either, but I'll support you regardless. As for her..." He finished off his sentence looking at the sleeping snake with a look of uncertainty.

"W-What?" Cythistia asked, gently placing a hand on the sleeping serpent beneath her, safeguarding her from her brother's possible wrath.

"Huhh... I'll decide what I think of her later, once this whole prophecy thing is over, I should have a good idea of her personality. Oh yeah, you guys can come out now." He said and suddenly several more stags of various shapes and sizes came out from the trees, I noticed them but decided that it's be wiser to say nothing.

"So, what's our next move then?" I asked, not sure where we'd go from here, but I'd go wherever Traytora went, to make sure that she returned home safely, although I felt that our journey might end soon as she might choose to stay here, with her, to look after her child.

"Hmm... We should probably start heading back to Athenela, we should be able to help that girl better there with the medical facilities, plus the council needs to take a look at the two of you." Kyristhus suggested.

"Mmm, I agree, it's be best for all of us if we went to Athenela and got ourselves sorted out there." Cythistia replied.

I however, was slightly confused, "Athenela?" I asked.

"Oh right, I never mentioned this but that's the capital of our small nation." Cythistia answered.

I nodded my head in understanding.

"Also, as much as I enjoy the forest, I prefer sleeping in a proper bed." She added.

We all laughed and after some more time talking, we then began our journey to the capital of Athenelos.

Athenela.
