The Velphine's

As the two of us sat there, blowing on our hot tea to cool it down enough to drink, I kept on glancing at the maid that served us, just stood there off to the side, waiting to help us if need be.

"I can see you're uncomfortable, would you rather have another maid serve you?" Cythistia asked.

I shook my head as I wasn't uncomfortable with the female lamia dressed it a black and white maid outfit, but more surprised that she even has one to begin with. I told her this and she understood.

"I see. I understand why you would think that, but her family has actually been serving the council's families since its founding." She explained.

I was surprised to hear that, as that would mean that there are at least eleven servants like the one next to us. It would also mean that their family has many children per generation. I don't think I'd be able to handle so many kids myself.

I took a sip of my tea and found it ever so slightly bitter. The maid noticed and when I put my cup back down, she put a sugar cube in it and returned to the side of the room, awaiting her chance to assist us again.

Since I didn't know what else to do, I inquired about Cythistia's family. She then went on to answer any questions I had.

Around an hour had passed and the two of us had finished our tea and our conversation.

I'd learned a lot about her family and their history as well as their customs. They were a family that angled more towards the lighter side of magic, and because of that, their traditions usually involve something to do with the circle of life.

They've also influenced their race to do the same. An example of this would be back when I asked what they do with the bodies they hunt. Of course, not everyone follows these traditions, mainly just her family.

Another thing about her family is that for some odd reason there are never any girls, just boys and futa's. Which is weird considering that there are female stags, I even saw a few in the markets.

Aside from that she also told me about her family's responsibilities. This included scouting the surrounding forest and also guarding it from people who would try and desecrate them.

After I finished asking everything I wanted to know, we then engaged in some small talk.

(Cythistia POV)

We had been chatting for about half an hour when Traytora's stomach started growling. I chuckled as I saw a blush adorn her fair face.

My maid, who was named Alisa, then spoke up.

"Would you like some snacks?" She inquired.

"Hmm, what's the time?" I asked back.

"Around one o'clock madam."

"Shouldn't we be having lunch then?"

"I suspect that madam's family will be arriving soon, hence why I didn't ask someone to make any, and why I asked if you wanted any snacks instead." She explained.

*GROWL!*

Traytora's rumbling stomach roared out in hunger, louder than before.

Thinking about her appetite, I asked Alisa, "Would you mind telling someone to make something small for her, she does have quite the appetite. And a small tray of biscuits as well." I requested.

"Of course, madam."

About ten minutes later she came back with a tray of biscuits and another pot of tea. She then placed the tray on the table and refilled our cups, adding a small cube of sugar to Traytora's cup.

"What happened to the rest of it?"

"I was informed that the rest of your family would be home in about roughly five minutes, so the chefs are preparing a celebratory meal of sorts to celebrate various things, one of which is your return." She informed me.

"Mmnnn…" I heard a small whine coming from Traytora, clearly, she was quite hungry and wanted food now. She picked up her cup and took a sip.

"If you wouldn't mind, you could feast upon me. It would be my pleasure to serve you in such a way." As soon as Alisa said that I could see Traytora tense up as her face turned ashen and her body beginning to shake.

I could tell that she was regressing into an incredibly painful memory, so I jumped up and over the table to hold her. Just as I jumped, she dropped her cup and it fell down onto the floor, shattering.

I landed next to her just as she clasped her head with weighted breaths and pulled her into a hug, which helped her to relax her body at the very least. She soon started crying on me again, dampening my clothes, but I didn't care.

I glared at Alisa, who wanted to say something but I cut her off before she could talk. "Don't say anything and just leave, I'll deal with you later." I ordered her in an aggressive tone.

She just quietly left the room and I went back to comforting the fragile noodle in my arms.

A little while later my brother comes in. He probably wanted to say that everyone had returned home but held back after seeing the situation. I just nodded to him and he nodded back and quietly left, most likely to tell the family that I would be a while. I then once more returned to comforting my love.

After about half an hour I heard her stomach growling again. I pulled away whilst still holding her shoulders and asked, "Would you like to go get some proper food?"

*Sniff*

She nodded and started to climb off of the sofa and I helped. I then held her hand and slowly led her out of here.

I walked and she slithered along as we walked towards the dining hall. 'I hope my brother had a seat prepared for her.' I thought as we reached the doors to the dining hall.

I stopped just before them and let go of Traytora's hand, turning to her. I took a deep breath and held her shoulders.

"I know you've just had a traumatic moment but, when you enter this room and I announce my pregnancy and that you're essentially the father, you will probably hear some very intense and harsh words. I know this might be a lot to ask of you as you are at this moment, but please try to bear with it, for me?" I smiled, knowing that what I said probably wouldn't hurt much when the time came.

*Sniff*

She sniffled again before nodding her head and grabbing my hand once more. I prepared myself for the confrontation ahead and knocked my free hand on the door, which was then opened immediately after.

As soon as they begun opening, I could hear some noise coming from people talking and laughing lightly, which soon quietened down as everyone slowly looked over at me, or more specifically, the person who's hand I was holding.
