Final boss

Everyone rushed in as we say the green wyvern lying there in wait as if it knew that we would be entering, though it seemed to have a little shock on its face as it saw our party and not the undead it had probably become accustomed to facing.

It got up and roared at us as it spread its wings menacingly at us. Everyone split up and surrounded it as Kane waved his orb and summoned several undead to distract it.

Meanwhile I was creating a magic circuit that would at the very least do a lot of damage. I was writing out everything I could think of to make sure that this spell would work.

And out of the corner of my eye I could see various undead standing guard in front of the rest of the party, while our own vanguard stood in front of me. As I concentrated more on the writing out the spell, the wyvern unleashed a breath attack, burning several undead into ashes and colliding and nearly breaking several magical barriers.

As for when it turned its attack round to us, the vanguard team just used their prowess to force the attack back at the monster. Unfazed by such a move it continued to spray fire towards everyone else.

I then blocked out any and all distractions that I could and focused solely on creating this spell circle.

I drew out the runes and imbued all the flames that I could, even imbuing my elemental affinities into some of the runes. I used every skill I had to inspire me to create this circular magic inscription.

And as the minutes dragged on, I could hear more and more anguish coming from my sides as people were injured, putting more pressure on my shoulders. At some point I had created half of it and I heard lots of shouting, but couldn't make it out as I had tuned most things out at that point.

"How long until you're done!?!" I heard Kane suddenly start screaming at me.

I lost concentration for a second and the whole thing nearly collapsed. But I managed to stabilise it before it could.

I stared aggressively at Kane for a few seconds before going back to writing the inscription circle. With the added urgency from Kane shouting aggressively at me with a little bit of fear in his voice, I doubled my pace as best I could.

Taking a different approach, I decided to finish the circle itself before moving on to the function.

I quickly completed the foundational inscriptions and moved on to the actual purpose of this spell.

To eviscerate the beast before us, or at least mortally wound it.

(Cythistia POV)

Everyone rushed into the boss room ready to fight. I would be mainly a support mage while Traytora would create a spell that would hopefully kill the boss monster or at least greatly damage it.

I ran off to its left with about half of the group that wasn't part of the vanguard that would be protecting Traytora. As for the other half, they went to other side.

The large creature gave out a deafening roar and began attacking everyone.

But before it could come closer however, a wave of undead appeared before us, drawing its attention away from us and to the undead as it became extremely aggressive upon their appearance.

Slash attacks that seemed to be imbued with the element of wind, fire breath from its mouth, incredible durability and defence, as well as immense strength.

It made its way through the undead horde easily, like it was cutting through butter. As for what we were doing, we were either buffing the undead or doing our best to restrain the creature.

Which is what I was doing. And as one of the most powerful mages in our group, I was ashamed at how little I was able to do to hold it in place, and that was with help from the only other nature mage we had. Who knows how well I'd be doing if I didn't have help.

I wasn't able to do much, but I was at least able to keep the beast grounded, several glowing wooden vines that pierced through the floor and wrapping around one of its legs.

It kept attacking everyone regardless of any inconveniences that we caused it. And our party attacked back along with Kane's undead. The undead did manage to chip away at its scales, but overall, they could barely do anything.

I looked over towards the entrance and saw Traytora still preparing the spell.

"Damn it! I'm running out of undead!" Kane shouted in anger. He then shouted aggressively at Traytora to hurry up.

This action irked me and I lost concentration slightly, allowing the wyvern to force its way out of the vines that were snaring it.

It quickly flapped its wings and launched itself up into the air of this rather large boss room, and began to assault us with fireballs from above.

Mana barriers were erected and were barely able to hold off the monsters attacks as they grew cracks with each strike and were about to shatter if not for one of Kanes undead to launch itself up at the creatures wing and tearing, ripping away its ability to fly.

The monster screeched in pain and crashed down on the other side of the room, ultimately crushing a few of our members to death.

I felt the weight of their deaths fall crushing me as I had been crushed myself. If I hadn't lost concentration for a moment, the wyvern wouldn't have been able to fly up and crash down when its wing was torn.

Still, I ignored that feeling of guilt and focused back on the wyvern, which was now getting up. It stumbled a little bit and I decided to try and ensnare it again with my magic.

I quickly chanted the spell alongside my fellow nature mage and we managed to capture its leg again, locking it in place, making it an easier target as it was now backed up against the wall.

Everyone kept on hurling spells at it, even though they didn't do anything but draw its attention.

It roared at us once again before firing another volley of its flaming breath attack at us. Everyone either blocked or forced it back at it though.

Overall, I would say that this is probably less difficult as we are managing to hold out, but eventually one of us will run out of energy, and that will most likely be the wyvern.

(Traytora POV)

After what felt like an eternity under the stress of trying to make this runic inscription the best I could possibly make it, I managed to finish it. I just needed to supply it with power now.

I summoned all three of my Auras, [Bloodline], [Soul] and [Elemental]. I then began pouring in as much of it as possible while also pouring in almost the rest of my mana as well to help hold it all together like glue.

Once I had poured enough in there, I then quickly looked up to see where the wyvern had gone. and saw it over to the right. I aimed it over there and signalled to move out of the way.

*HISSSS*

The vanguard team looked back and jumped out of the way, as did everyone else that was in my line of fire. The undead also backed off

The monster noticing this, turned to look at me with a suspicious gaze as it gave a low growl.

It then gave out, hopefully, its final roar.

And I took this as my opportunity and fired the spell straight into the wyverns mouth.

A multicoloured beam of power shot forth and forced its way inside, shocking the creature.

The beam finished firing into its mouth after a few seconds and the boss monster just shut its jaws, shock evident on its face as its eyes were wide open.

And then...
