The Winter Advent (1/3)

As soon as we saw each other, we were both in awe at each other's appearances.

I was of course wearing the robe that I had custom made for me.

But she was wearing a white dress that ran all across her body, decorated with a sparkling emerald green embroidery that depicted a forest with a giant silver tree that seemed to enshroud the forest around it not by overshadowing it, but by providing the light it took from them.

At least that's how I saw it.

*Cough*

I don't know which of us coughed in that moment but it didn't matter as it snapped us out of our trances.

"Y-You look beautiful." She complimented.

'So do you.' I returned the sentiment.

There was a slight moment of silence before she asked, "Should we get going?" To which I nodded.

Throughout the whole trek just to even exist the building people were stopping and starring, much more than before now that, and when we left the premise of the building, it wasn't much better, it was worse even as there were tons of people, all of which were staring at us.

I could hear them whispering things about us, all of them good obviously, but the amount of attention was extremely embarrassing for us. Not just because of who we were, but because we were just that eye catching in our current outfits.

Despite our red faces we ignored all of them and marched on towards where the festivities were taking place.

And just as before, people were staring, but thankfully we weren't the only ones with a stunning beauty, nor were we the first to arrive so most of the people here had gotten used to the sight of pretty people.

We did our best to ignore them so that we could enjoy the festival to its fullest. Which we did, checking out everything the stalls had to offer, which ranged from winter themed trinkets to cold icy treats, which seemed a bit odd to me. Why would you want cold foods in winter when you could just have warm food instead?

Regardless of the reason, Cythistia erred me to try some out. And I was really surprised by this thing called 'Ice Cream' which was soft and sweet, but just melted in my mouth as I tasted it.

There were also several different flavours to try out such as chocolate, honeycomb, salted caramel, as well as several fruity flavours. The strawberry flavour was kind of meh, in my opinion, almost bad even.

Overall I liked this 'Ice Cream' thing. I mostly preferred the sweet ones as I don't eat sweets very often if at all.

Also, one thing that I'd noticed was that despite the cold weather and all the cold food I was eating, I didn't feel like I felt this morning, which meant that the robe I was wearing was of very high quality.

After smiling at that revelation, Cythistia saw it and asked, "What's got you smiling so cheerfully?"

'Just happy that I can spend this special day with you.' I told her. And it was true, I was truly, genuinely happy that I could spend time with her and not be stuck in bed.

"Awww, thanks." She said while smiling.

I blushed at her cute response.

After savouring the ice cream's, we went and tried the other treats while browsing the stalls for anything we found interesting.

There was a bunch of winter themed jewellery, most of it being snowflakes, some being something called a 'Snowman' which was apparently made by collecting a bunch of snow in ball shapes and stacking them together.

We kept on wondering around the stalls for a, trying out more winter themed food and window shopping until we came across the first of many activities.

Unfortunately, neither of us were capable of participating. I was just physically incapable of doing it and Cythistia wasn't built for it.

This activity was called 'Ice Skating' where people wore shoes with blades underneath them to travel across the ice.

Moving on from that, we went and looked around for something else to do besides browse the stalls. And that's when we stumbled upon a little game stall.

It was a ring toss, except the rings were snowflake shaped with a hole in the middle for obvious reasons. There weren't many prizes, nor were they that good, but we weren't looking for such things, we just wanted to have fun and be happy together.

We paid for a few of rounds each, with each round consisting of five rings per round. I threw my first shot to gauge my shot alongside Cythistia. Obviously our first shot was terrible, as were the next few, but we did get close.

On our last set of rings however, Cythistia got so close to winning but sadly the pole wobbled the wrong way and it didn't make it.

"Augh! So close!" She cried out in frustration as I pet her back to comfort her. Unfortunately for her, that was her last ring.

I had two left and just as I was about to throw one of them, Cythistia grabbed my arm. I looked at her in confusion and saw her darkened face.

"Let's go, now." She said sternly.

It took a moment to process what she said but I semi-reluctantly put my rings on the stall counter and followed her as she started dragging me away.

But before we could even get back into the crowd, I heard a voice from behind us.

"Well well well, look who we have here."

I remembered this voice.

It was that porcupine bitch. What was her name again? You know what I don't care, I just want to get out of here before she causes any trouble.

"Hold on now, where do you think you're going?" Unfortunately, we were too late, and she called out to us.

"Leaving." Cythistia stated bluntly, still trying to leave.

It seems that the bitch thought of this as a pair of bear-kin blocked our way.

I could feel that Cythistia was livid right now by how tight she was holding my hand and her lack of a trembling body.

She turned around, me still in hand, and said, "No." She said it in such a flat tone, yet somehow threatening at the same time.

"Ha! You think you can just ignore me? WRONG! I don't care who you are or what you do, you should just listen to me!"

As the entitled bitch kept spewing nonsense out of her mouth, I could finally feel Cythistia starting to tremble.

I decided that that was enough, and threw a ball of [Hellfire] right at her babbling face.

"AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!!"

Her shrilling scream made everyone stop whatever they were doing and look over.

Everyone who watched it witnessed it was too stunned to properly react and everyone else was just confused, all the while, the bitch on fire was still screaming in agony.

And after about a minute or two, I cancelled my magic, revealing a horrid and permanent charred scar on her face.

She didn't stop squealing though, and crumpled to the floor, hovering her hands over her new 'look'.

I felt all eyes turn to me.

Cythistia was the first to speak up and ask, "What did you just do?"

'There are consequences to ones actions, you told me that. You also told me how much she's tried ruining your life. These are the consequences of her actions.' I explained.

"I-" She hesitated to say something, seriously thinking about what I just said. "You're right..." She said dejectedly. She then looked up at the woman whom had been constantly ruining her life with a conviction. "I need to enact the consequences. I need to stop being afraid of my own actions and their consequences. I need to..."
