The Lovely Couple

*Two months later*

*Di Hee's POV*

It's finally the day I awaited the most. I walked to the changing room, and there were giggles and slight laughter behind me as I stepped forward. Reaching the venue where my dress was waiting for me, I nervously opened the door which awaited my new life.

Not that I haven't seen designer cloth before but the day on which you are going to wear them is a different feeling, no? I could feel goosebumps on my arms from the excitement.

I entered the room and saw Bong-Soon there already doing preparations to get me ready. The white floor-touching gown, which I was going to wear, was perfectly hung in the middle of the room so that it won't get wrinkled.

After some time, I could feel the soft fabric sliding up to my arms, and the velvet-like texture of the bell-shaped lower part made me feel smooth waves when it moved.

"You're looking as beautiful as ever," Bong-Soon whispered in my ear from behind, smiling heartily.

"Thank you. But I am feeling nervous." I asked as I took the tissue and whipped my hands, which were sweating.

"Everything is going to be okay, hum?" She gently rubbed my back and went from there after I nodded.

After a few minutes, Guk-Du entered the room, but he was not looking nervous or even enjoying himself. What was on his mind?

"Why are you being so emotionless? Show some expression. You know, you are scaring me." I tried to say, but he just casually came and sat beside me and held my hands in his. Slowly he forwarded my hands towards his lips and gently pecked them.

"You won't believe it, but I'm feeling nervous, and it is a lot harder than just imagining. I had imagined this many times earlier, but this feeling is so pure, and I can't express my feelings in words." I said in a slow voice, and I could feel him shaking a little.

I squeezed his hand a little to assure him. The next moment the announcement was made, and we left the room to be on the podium. Assuring him was just a formality for me as my legs were shaking.

We stepped on the walkway like all the couples do. I didn't have a father, so we decided to do this.

"Wow!" I could hear a little kid's voice which caught my attention, and I looked that way and smiled widely at him.

"Eomma, she is so beautiful. I want a wife like her." I was looking forward when I heard him again, and I giggled a little, hearing his wish.

We stood facing each other as the priest started to speak the vows.

"Do you, Kim Di-Hee, accept In Guk-Du as your legal husband?" The aged man asked me, and without hesitating, I replied, "I do."

He continuously smiled, making me want to smile even more, but my cheeks and jaw were already hurting.

"Do you In Guk-Du accept Kim Di-Hee as your legal wife?" The priest asked.

"I do." Hearing these words from him made my smile even more brightly. The remaining vows were also taken, and the time to kiss came.

I felt butterflies when he lowered himself to my level, and when his lips touched mine, I felt like fainting from the feeling. Pulling away, he said in a slow voice,

"Don't worry. There won't be anyone like you for him to have as his wife." Hearing this statement, I chuckled a little.

---------

"Ladies first." Guk-Du signalled his arms towards the open door of the car. I laughed a little and sat in.

Soon he entered after talking to eomma, which I couldn't hear. I felt my eyes started to pain from wearing lenses for too long, so I removed them. But one of them fell, and I lowered to find the lens in the darkness of the car.

Even the light was not helping. I changed to be more comfortable for this long drive home. Yes, we had our wedding ceremony outside the city, which I refused but still happened.

Feeling exhausted and even more pain in my eyes. I rested my head back on the seat with closed eyes.

I, even now and then, regret using too much screen even when it was not necessary. I could see the harm done.

I just closed my eyes tightly to lessen it, but it just wouldn't go, and I just lazily lay there, and in some time, I felt the seat beside me dip.

And the next moment, my head was on his shoulder. Shifting a little in a comfortable position, I relaxed against him and, in no time, I went into a deep slumber.

---

I woke up when the car came to a rather harsh, sudden stop. Due to the sudden force, my neck ached, and a small cry escaped my lips.

"What is it?" I heard Guk-Du ask in an angry tone.

"Sorry sir. Some child came in front of the car out of the blue." The driver apologised with sincerity in his voice, and I looked at the woman, checking her son from up to down with tears in her eyes.

My eyes softened, seeing the scene in front of me. "You did a good thing, sir. No need to apologise. Please drive on." I said in a soft voice which was coming out rather hoarse.

"You are a kind lady, ma'am," He said with a smile, bowed his head and stepped on the gas.

I messaged the back of my neck a little because of the strain. I turned my head towards my right and caught Guk-Du red-handed staring at me. He quickly looked away the time our eyes met. He was still shy after our marriage, which took place a few hours ago.

Soon we reached near his house, now ours. I stepped out of the car and stretched a little to ease up my tightened muscles from long hours of sitting.

I turned towards the trunk and had intended to help but was not allowed to.
