Tobias pauses and gives you a thoughtful look.
"Yeah, it is. I just…kind of forgot about it. But still—it's not like just keeping the forest is gonna help fix the town."
You talk for a while longer as you finish your food, in particular about Tobias's college visit tomorrow and just how weird it is that he's going to college at all. Eventually, Tobias points in the direction of what looks like some pretty incredible ice cream. You set off again through the market—but this time, you take a shortcut through a row of stands you haven't seen before, all displaying information about things like local sports clubs, mental health awareness groups, and environmental issues.
As you're passing the last stand—which, since it's decorated with about a hundred neon stars and hearts and butterflies, is pretty hard to miss—you hear someone call out:
"Hi, Tobias! I thought it was you!"
You look around in confusion for a second, until you notice Tobias turning towards the eye-searing stand with a look of surprise. Following his gaze, you realize there's so much stuff stuck to the stand that from this angle it hid the girl standing behind it, now leaning out to wave at Tobias with a friendly smile.
