A Friend

I was in the room, lying on the bed. I had locked myself up since the incident. I was upset and wondered why Alberta acted out. I found her behavior strange. I sit up on the bed and lean forward. I was staring at the dress that I found in the barn. I stood up and walked up to the table, where I placed the dress. As I extended my hand to grab the dress, Robert approached him from behind, which scared me.

You have forgotten that you have a family that needs you. I need you in the barn to help me feed the cattle. Also, your mother is not feeling well, so I want you to take your brother and sister to school.

I turn my face toward Robert. I said nothing and walked up to the bed. I sat down and started staring at the ground. Robert comes close to me and pulls my arm. “Ouch!” I screamed.

Why did you pull my arm so hard? “Don’t act like that,” Robert said. I did not pull your arm that hard. I was just grabbing it. “Why do you think we are trying to hurt you?”

Robert starts pacing in the room. “You know, we thought when you woke up, everything would be normal again, but since then, you’ve just accused me and your mother of trying to hurt you.”

I stood up and walked up to Robert. I and Robert look at each other at the same time. Since I have awakened, you both are acting strange. You two yelled at me for no apparent reason.

Hmmm... caring for your kid is acting strange to you, so I am guilty. You are wasting my time. “I was here to ask you; can you take your brother and sister to school?” Robert said while walking out of the room. They are getting late for school. They will direct you in the proper direction.

Yes, I can take them to school. “Just one more thing, can I give the dress to Emma that I found in the barn?” I spoke. “Fine, do what you think is right,” Robert yelled.

I walked up to the table, grabbed the dress, and walked downstairs. Ryan and Sarah were already waiting for me outside the house. I walked out of the house, grabbed their hands, and started walking down the dirt road.

Ryan and Sarah were quiet. They were also looking nervous. I stopped and looked down at them. Why are we not walking? “Were we not already too late?” Sarah asked.

So now you are talking. Why do you have a long face? “Are you not happy that you are going back to school?” I inquire. I am happy. “See,” Ryan said while making a smiley face.

Fine, “If you don’t want to talk about it, I won’t pressure you,” I said. But remember that I am here for both of you.

Meanwhile, I heard someone calling my name when I looked over my shoulder. I saw Emma standing outside the house.

“Come quick; I was waiting for you,” Emma said. When Ryan and Sarah saw Emma, they ran toward her.

“Good talk,” I reacted. As I was walking back in the direction of my home, Emma yelled. “Come inside; I know you are dying to see me teach.”

I turned my face toward her and looked at her with a smile and walked up to her. No, I cannot stay. Robert would be waiting for me. He said he needed me to feed the cattle. “If I do not go, he will get angry again.”

Emma grabs my hand and takes me inside the small cabin where she tutors children. It was colorful from the inside. There were two rooms in the cabin. One looks like a bedroom, and the other is the big hall where children from 5 to 10 years were sat on the benches. The pictures that the children had drawn were hung on the walls.

“I want you to sit back there, and we can talk at halftime,” Emma said while walking away. “But Robbert was waiting for me,” I mumbled in my mouth. A few hours later, the kids were out of the hall, and Emma was alone in the room. I started getting nervous. The diamond’s sweat appears on my face.

“Are you okay?” Emma asked.

“They will kill me today,” I said with a shivering voice. Emma looked at me. “What are you saying?”

I am saying. Promise me. You will come to offer flowers to my grave. Emma burst into laughter. "You weren't so funny before" I take a deep breath.

Robert and Alberta will kill me. “What had you forced me to do? “Hey, please stop thinking that they are going to hurt you because you are here and did not go home right away. They love you. I told you before. So just chill.

I took a deep breath and started looking outside the window. Emma tapped on my shoulder from behind. “So, what is in your hand?” Emma asked.

I looked at my hands. Oh, I forgot to give you this. It is your dress. “I found it in the barn behind the tractor,” I explained.

At first, Emma gives me strange looks. She had a large smile on her face. She takes the dress and walks up to the table, where she places it in the cupboard. I followed her to the table. “Were we together before the accident?”

Emma turns her face toward me. There is a slight smile on her face. So, we were together. I said while sitting in the chair. Are we engaged?

Sarah cut me off. “Hold your horses,” she said abruptly. Before your accident, we had something. “I don’t know what it was, but it was pretty amazing.”

So, how serious were things between us, and why didn’t you come to me after I woke up from the coma?"

Emma comes close to me. She looked down at me. I want, but when I heard you had lost your memory, I thought I should not pressure you, and it was the right decision because you are going through a tough time with no knowledge about your past. “You believe that you don’t belong here or that they are not your family.”

I give her a grumpy stare-down. Do not give me that look. Alberta told me everything, that since you woke up from the coma, you are trying to get off this island. I know it looks strange to you, but I was in touch with her or your family. I know I should say something.

I stood up and walked up to the door, but I stopped and walked back to Emma. Can I ask you something? “You don’t think it strange that, so few families live here?”

Well, you are wrong. “Can you meet me here tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.?” Emma said. I cannot come. “They wouldn’t let me go” to Emma,” I explained.

“Then sneak out of the house,” Emma whispers in my right ear. You are a big boy. And you can tolerate a little scolding. Trust me, you will get used to it very soon. While putting her right hand on right cheek.

Hmmm...I do not know why I feel that you are not my friend but my enemy” I said. Emma started smiling at me.

While we were conversing, a man appeared behind the door. a machete in his hand. Blood dripped down it. His clothes were splattered with blood.
