Chapter Seven: The Play Set

*I went home to sleep*

The next day (June 17)

I had a free day today because of all the over time I have had. I woke up around 10:30 am. I made myself some coffee and I heard the radio go off. And I thought to myself "When can I get a day free in this fucking job". Michaelson come in. Said Russel. I'm here, what's up Russel? I asked. There is another body at 114 Riverside Blvd, NY. Dwight School, Preschool & Kindergaten. A kid was found under they playset. They have cancelled the Preschool and Kindergaten. The parents have been called; some officers are on the scene. He said. 10-4 (message recieved/understood). I'm on my way, over and out. I said.

When I got to the Preschool and Kindergarten, they were about to move the body away from the play set, so I yelled at them and said "Stop. Don't move the body". They all looked at me, and put the body back down. I went to the playset and started to look for evidences, and I looked at the kid's body. Male, age 6, no positive ID. Bruises on his face, skull is smashed in with a hammer. The kill happened here, there is blood around. Signs of struggle. Cannot say the exact number of the hits he has been smasjed in the head with by the hammer but somewhere between ten to twenty times. I will get the exact number when the autopsy report is done. The child has been dead for around three hours, the clock is now 1pm, so the murder happened aroudn 10am. I did not find any murderweapons. There were a few parents and some workers still in the parking lot. I walked over to a worker. Excuse me sir, can I ask you some questions? I asked. Yes officer, how can I help you? He asked. Do you have a list of the kids who showed up for school? Who have acsess here? and do you have security cameras? I asked. Everykid showed up, bet the only kid that didn't come to class was Giles Cory. The list is in my office, I will give it to you, just come with me. And no we don't have security cameras here, it's been used un the wrong way by some prior workers. He said and walked to his office. Thanks for the list, can you tell me anythigng about Giles Cory? I asked. Giles is one of the best kids we have, he is an active child, the top of his class, and he has many friends. We all love him; I know for a fact that none of my workers would've hurted him. He said. One last question. Was his parents outside and who found his body? I asked. Yes, his parents were there. Their name is Melodee and Bob. Maya Lightwood was the one finding him. Maya is his best friend. He said. Thank you for your time. I said.

I walked to the gate, and I went to the parents of the victims. I told them that I was sorry for their loss and that we are working every hour of the day to find the killer, and he will pay for what he has done. I knew it was the serial killer that is on the loose, no other than William Hobbs. I knew this because it fitted his pattern, however it could be someone else, but I believe it is not. I went to another coworker to maybe see if they saw something. This was in the middle of the day and someone had to see something. Excuse me mam, I need to ask you some questions. I said. Yes, go ahead. She said. Where were the workers and the other kids around 10am? I asked. The youngest kids have sleep time, Shara Good has the smallest kids or the once who is napping. When it's resting time, we normally go outside, either in the woods or to the beach. Giles were tired so he went to take a nap. If someone saw something it must be Shara. She said. Thank you for your help mam, I will reach her no doubt. Is she here by any chance? I asked. No. She's not. She normally leaves when we get back, it's normally around 10.30am. She said. Thank you for your help. Here is my card if you come up with anything that can help, and if you have any questions feel free to ask. I said and left.

I went back to the station and made the kids file, putting it with the other cases under the name William Hobbs, and then I searched up shara Good on the computer. I tried calling her, but it went to voicemail. "This is officer Michaelson, please call me up, or come down to the 103rd precinct as soon as you get this" I said and hung up. About three hours passed and I did not hear anything from het. I tried calling once more, this time it answered. Hey. This is officer Michaelson. Is this Shara Good? I asked. Shara is home. The person said and hung up.
