Chapter Eight: The Only Wittnes

*The person said and hung up*

I knew his voice. It is William Hobbs. Shara probably saw what happened and he knew, he probably saw her and killed her. The only trace, the only person who saw him. Is dead. I quickly ran to my car. "10-45 (possible dead body), victim is possibly Shara Good at 1049 fox street Longwood Bronx NY. I'm 15 minutes out".

When I got there the body was right in the doorway, she is 75 years old. I found her purse and she had an ID and a picture in her wallet. The picture was of her, two other ladies and some kids. I looked at the body, and she has been also been beaten with a hammer. She has 12 broken bones, both feets; hands and knees were broken. Her neck, left arm, right ankle, right shoulder and some of her fingers were broken. She has inner bleedings all over her body, which means she had been abused before she died. Which gave me this as an alternative description of what went down.

*There were no sings of forced entry, which means that he was right behind her and jumped on her. Which made her fall and hit her head. She than fought against it, he then grabbed her ankle which she ended up staying on the ground so she would not move. He then took up the hammer he killed Giles with and started to hit her multiple times. First, he started to hit her on the feets, than he went on the way up to hitting her back, than he started to hit the shoulder till it broke. After that he hit her arms and down to the hands and fingers. He thought she was dead by the fall and stood up from her, then he heard her crawling and turned around and smashed the hammer in both knees. Then he lifter her head and slit her throat with a bread kinfe, just enough for her to bleed and broke her neck. She did not move at all but she did not die of the broken neck. Cause of death is most likley due to inner bleeding ang loss of blood.*

I went back to the precinct and I looked up her file to figure out who was in the photograph. She was a mother to two kids to the grils in the photos. One of the girls lived at 6940 Yellowstone BLV forest hills NY. It was late so I decided to do it in the morning, so I clocked out. The time was around 7:15pm. Tonight was the first night in weeks, I could eat with my family and be there till tomorrow.

The next day (June 18)

I drove my kids to School, and then I started to drive towards her house. When I got there, I knocked on the door. There was this little kid that opened the door, and she just stared at me for what felt like a minute, her eyes did not leave me. Hey kiddo, my name is Daniel and I am a Police officer, is your mom or dad home? I asked her. She nodded yes. Okay kiddo, do you mind getting them here? I asked and gave her my badge so she could show it to them. Mom, mom! A police officer gave this. I heard her say.

I tried to look in to see what was going on, and I saw that the mom took my badge away from her and came towards the door and gave me the badge back. Hey officer, how may I help you? She asked. Are you Rose Good? I asked. Yes, that is me. Why? What's going on? She asked. Is it only you and your daughter here? I asked. Yes, do you want to come in? She asked. Yes, please. But I'm just going to grab something in the car, something your daughter might like. I said.

I went and got a police star and a teddy bear, the police dog from paw patrol and gave it to her kid. "Here kiddo, this is for you. hope you like it" I said and smiled to her. She gave me a smile back and starte to play with it. I'm not sure if she wants to hear this from me, if she has a playroom or something it be better. I said. Sweetie can you please go and play in your room? She said. Okay, mom. She said and took the stuff I gave her and left. Officer what is going on? Is my husband okay? She asked. I don't know, I'm not here for him. I'm here for tour mother Shara. I said. What's wrong with my mom? I talked to her yesterday before she went to Dwight Preschool & Kindergarten where she was going to watch over the kids. Has this something to do with the kid that was found dead? She asked. Yes, it is. I think your mom saw something she wasn't supposed to see. I think she saw who killed the kid. She was found dead at her house. Do you know if anyone would want to harm her? I said. Omg. She's.. No, she can't be... She just talked... Like she said we could eat there... A-are you sure officer? There has to be a mistake. She said. I'm sorry Rose, but it's true. I'm sorry. My condolences. I know for a fact it is her. I was the one who found her body. I said. Omg. And no one wanted to hurt her, she is a lovely lady, she has been nice and caring all her life, she has helped a lot of people. She's a former nurse. I don't know what more to say. Do you mind me going to get my child? She asked. Go ahead. I said and smiled.

She went upstairs and I saw her go into a door. She came down holding her daughter and her daughter seemed worried. Hey. I said and waved to her. Hello officer. Thanks for toys. Her daughter said. Thanks officer, I think you should leave. My sister is on her way. I'll tell her. She said and smiled. Thank you Rose for the help, and thank you kiddo for getting your mom. I said and smiled. As I turned away, I heard her daughter say "you welcome".

I went to the car and I went home. I was not supposed to be on work today, so I took the rest of the day off to be with my daughters and husband. I was just hoping this could be one day with no interruptions. It started to get late, so I made my kids ready for bed. I made them brush their teeths and get their pajamas on. As I read them a book I got a text message from a no caller ID.
