World Quest board

Nolan set out with his new teammates, at least now he could tell their positions in the team. Emmy appeared to be the leader as they couldn't make the decisions without her consent and her commanding character fitted perfectly for the position.

Frank on the other hand was apparently the second in command and his juvail and welcoming character made him everyone's favorite. He always knew how to keep the smiles on everyone's faces especially Kinki who always made sure to laugh at all his jokes regardless of how stupid they were.

Nolan later got to find out though that the two were actually siblings. He couldn't hide the envy in his heart when he learnt this he was wishing Allison was also by his side the fear of not having her by his side at the moment was crippling.

Emax was the last man of the group and the others called him the quiet one this was because of his usually timid and quiet behavior.

"So is the quest board going to be near the tower just like it was during the test program?" Emax asked shyly with his timid voice.

"Yeah that's right, you know much has changed since we actually started the main game" Frank supported.

"It should be worth checking, you never know. Besides we have no idea where else it might be" Emmy said with a bright smile. For some unknown reason she had become the most enthusiastic about heading out for the mission.

"Anything happened we don't know of? Cause you seem more happy than usual" Frank asked teasingly with a chuckle.

Emmy's face immediately flushed red in embarrassment and she replied back, "What do you... mean? Is it a bad thing to be suddenly happy" she stuttered, her embarrassed face made Kinki to give out a light chuckle.

From far back Nolan was enjoying the liveliness of the little group he was in but in actuality he was in deep thoughts.

'if I stay with these guys I won't be able to find Allison, and I can't leave her on her own...."

"Idiot she's not a child, she can take care of herself" his thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Ra's voice.

It was annoying knowing that you were sharing your thoughts with a pest, a vein popped on his head. The annoying system just had the worst time to interrupt.

"Keep quiet you little runt" Nolan said.

"Nah, sorry but you can't make me too, I can talk all day and you won't do a thing about it"

"Hmph" Nolan snorted inwardly ignoring the system.

"Okay guys I think we are here" Emmy announced as they neared. the large tower. Upfront they could see lot's of players entering and leaving the large tower.

"That's a lot of players we've got there" Frank said, looking at the amount of people gathered.

"This isn't even up to half the population of those inside the game. Most people gathered here are all those who participated in the test program. They know that the fastest way to earn points is mostly by completing quest." Nolan said throwing side glances at all the players that were gathered there.

"So you mean they're all just trying to get a good kickstart before the newbies join in on the fun" Emmy asked.

"Just like you and the rest of us, yes" Nolan replied calmly, sliding his hands into his pockets.

Frank immediately noticed this and bursted out in a loud laughter.

"The fuck what's with the pose, your not staring a movie bro. Don't try to play the smart guy in the group"

Nolan was embarrassed by Frank's sudden remark but he couldn't argue with him. It was a bad habit but with the way Frank voiced it, he doubted anyone would listen to his excuse.

To make matters worse Emmy, Kinki and even a few other players who had herd frank laughed out too. Nolan felt like digging a ditch to hide his face.

"Ha that guy really got you there" Ra added

"You better shut your crap" Nolan replied coldly.

"Enough with the jokes let's go get a quest" Emmy said, bringing the laughter's to an abrupt end. With that the group made their way into the tower.

The interior of the tower was quite very similar to the outside, there was no much difference. it was just like a large empty space, no stairs whatsoever.

On the stone cold walls of the tower tall holographic boards were passed all round.

The board had different missions displayed on it, as more and more people collected their missions, the mission chosen would disappear off the board to be replaced by another one just as fast. Taking the lead Emmy went straight forward for the board upfront.

"Hey, I was looking at that mission. I was just about to take it" A man suddenly yelled. He was wearing a military rugged jean.

The character had a large scar cutting across his face, giving him quite the fierce look. He also had an average muscular body.

Contrastingly the person who me he was yelling at was a lean figure they couldn't tell particularly what he looked like as he was completely swallowed up in a thick black cloak.

"Well you weren't going to take it either way, I just helped you" A frail voice replied turning his back on he stunned figure to leave.

"You..." Feeling insulted the man lunged towards the little boy (they could tell from the voice) who suddenly disappeared from sight. No one could tell when or how he disappeared but non could see him standing where he originally was.

In a split second a loud bashing sound was heard and the man who had attacked now stood headless. Fright could be seen on the face of his body less head.

[Critical Hit] a red notification appeared on his system.

[HP: 0] -1 life.

The notification flashed before his eyes and following it was a loud bang as the man's body frame shattered into frail shards of glass.

The little boy appeared once again out of thin air, calmly walking towards the door. Those who stood in his path quickly cleared the way for him in fear of losing their own heads too.

Nolan didn't even budge as the figure passed him, he could even her the few words he muttered to himself, but Nolan ignored them.

The spectators weren't worried because the man who was killed would just appear back at the last checkpoint.

If his body hadn't burst into shards of glass that only meant that he had used up his three lives, so for the fact that it did then there was no problem.

In the game, many had learnt it the hard way during the test program. Body stature and physical look didn't contribute one bit to the overall strength of the character, that was probably where the man made a mistake taking the cloaked figure as weaker.

Nolan nodded his head disappointedly, "The other guy probably thought he had the upper hand cause he was bigger" Ra entered with his usual side comments.

However unlike usual Nolan actually supported, "But. it just doesn't work like that here"
