The Boss

As they entered into the car like entrance they were met with a new world, an otherworldly sight that left them in awe. But regardless they still knew they had to be careful.

"It just reminds me of the saying, 'beautiful things are the most dangerous'" Nolan said, as he entered into the cave carefully, Emmy following right behind him.

"You have to be careful, I have a feeling this is where the boss has been hiding " Emmy said, looking around still bewildered by the sight before her eyes.

On the inside, the cave appeared to be much wider and spanned to quite a large extent as well. The walls were coated in thick blue ice that gave lighting to the whole place, and this was same for the ceilings as well.

It was as though they had entered an underground ice palace. The blue walls had red spirals running through them in all directions, in a vein-like pattern.

It looked distorted but still had a hint of beauty in it. As the walked to the center of the passage the earth beneath their feet trembled greatly.

The light from the blue walls dimmed and brightened as though they were reacting to the trembling earth as well. Looking down from the center they could tell that the cave stretched out to quite a larger distance as they appeared to be multiple passage ways ahead.

The air was so chilled inside that it had become quite troubling for the two of them inside to even breath. Even as they spoke the air that escaped from their mouth was made visible thanks to the freezing temperature.

Nolan carefully walker over to the wall, and placed his hands on it, correspondingly the earth shook once again.

Looking closely at the walls Nolan quickly noticed something, "Emmy come check this out," He called out to her.

They could see within the walls people that were frozen. They looked to be petrified in fear, some looked to be dead their skin pale and completely white.

Just then, they heard a sound and almost at the same time they both turned looking towards the direction the sound had come from.

Coming from all the passages were people, more like zombies. They looked human alright, but they were acting more like mindless humans, what better definition could be given to them, 'Zombie' just happened to be the best way to describe them in one word.

However, they weren't just the average type zombies, they had icy blue crystals protruding out from some parts of their body, and their dark blue eyes shone brightly despite having no life in them.

Nolan and Emmy quickly readied themselves, immediately they pulled out their various weapons from the second space.

-Long sword

-Shot guns

"You have guns, support from the back, I'll be going forward " Nolan said with a stern voice as he dashed right into action.

He tore right into the center of the enemies fearlessly, throwing out a barrage of attacks.

Each attack coming with all his strength and power, barely giving the Zombies any chance to get a hold on him, or even touch him at all.

His moves were fast and decisive, he wasn't just killing them off quickly as he knew he would waste a lot of time if he decided to follow such a path.

However, he was just crippling them one by one, with his keen sight he was able to spot their weak points and strike decisively.

His awesome display even left Emmy so bewildered that she had almost forgotten her role as a support.

"Shit this guy is good" She said, as she quickly started shooting bullets towards the barrage of Zombies.

"This thing isn't ending!" Nolan shouted frustratingly as he was locked in the never ending parade of beast.

In that slight moment a beast clawed at him, digging it's sharp claw into his skin.

"Arrgh " The pain seared through his body and following it was an icy feeling.

Anger filled, Nolan ignored the pain from the hit and slammed his long sword right at the beast, Killing it instantly, it's blue blood spurting out in all directions.

"This thing isn't ending, how the fuck are they so many" Nolan was getting pissed off, he had been fighting endlessly for minutes, it was like he had entered into some kind of zombie apocalypse.

With Emmys help though, their numbers were reducing rapidly, and soon they was only about a handful left, to deal with.

Nolan was panting heavily, each breath he drew becoming more shallow than the last. The freezing temperature was making it difficult for him to draw in adequate air.

His eyes were barely able to remain fixed on the targets, seeing the fight wasn't favoring him much longer, he retreated backwards to rest up a bit.

"You can handle the rest lemme rest up a bit" He told Emmy as his eyes were suddenly feeling drowsy.

"Nolan are you all right?" She asked, finding his reaction to be quite strange. His complexion had paled completely. He could barely even stand for much longer.

Slowly he began shivering in the cold and although she wanted to come check up on him as quickly as she could she was being held up by the storm of ice zombies.

However, with her eyes she could see the large injury on Nolans back spreading out like a plague and she finally knew the reason why he'd suddenly become so weak.

"Isn't that the injury from the .." Quickly she rushed towards Nolan ignoring the incoming Zombies she knew if she let anything happen to Nolan than her chances of leaving the place alive would slim down by lots and as such she couldn't let anything happen to the latter.

Quickly pulling out her daggers from the second space, she turned Nolan's back, she could see the injury he had gotten from one of the zombies spreading out rapidly.

She digged her dagger into his back, drawing out a blue sticky blood, it seemed to be wriggling around as though it was alive.

"Thankful I saw that on time." She said as she turned Nolan to the front, aiding him to sit upright and rest his back on the blue walls.

In that instant Nolan eyes shone with a bright blue color.

"Oh shit!"
