Angry System

Cold sweat trickled down Nolan's face as the monster stood right in front of him. At the moment he was at the mercy of the cruel beast and couldn't do anything.

Right after the notification from he system it felt as though all the muscles in his body had melted. His whole body felt sore and he could hardly even move an arm.

"What am I going to do" He thought as he watched the beast, his eyes still shinning with resilience. He knew he had no other escape ticket, but still yet giving up for him wasn't an option.

Spirals of energy began spinning round the beast hands, as an ice spear began to form. It looked at Nolan it's eyes devoid of mercy. He could tell that there was no escaping this one again.

He looked towards Emmy who seemed to be petrified. This was the part of human nature that he loathed so much. Despite all that he'd risk to help her during the hard times, now he was about to face a cruel death and she seemed to be contemplating over what to do.

"If I were the one I would just dive right in, Don't gimme that crappy look" Nolan thought to himself as he looked towards Emmy who had no idea what to do.

She could run in and save him now, but that would only prolong their death. If she decided to run, there was no hope on that side too. The whole forest, if not a huge mass of it, was the beast body and it would simply pin point her and kill her off right before she left the boundaries of the forest.

But from the onset she never considered that as an option. The only reason she had that look on her face was because of the next action she was about to take.

Nolan who wasn't aware of this, had already cursed her to her fourth generation. Although being a very quiet individual who never seemed to show any expressions on his face, inwardly he was a malevolent, contemptuous and perhaps the must haughty individual.

It plunged the ice spear at a frightening speed towards Nolan, who seemed to have lost all hope. "Well, you see I was always right, you're the most useless system anyone could ever have" He made one last remark to Ra as he closed his eyes in defeat.

"That's only because I happen to be in the most useless human" Ra retorted.

But as the spear inched closer barely a centimeter left before it stroke Nolan, a loud bang was heard as the spear was shattered into shreds by a round blue energy bullet.

It didn't even stop after destroying the spear it continued onward hitting the ice walls and instantly charring it, leaving only black color.

The bullet didn't stop as it continued, firing off at the beast drilling several holes into the body.

"Damn, this bitch is crazy" Nolan thought looking towards Emmy, her expression had turned into quite the frightening one, the fear on her face now rewritten with an intent to kill.

The bullet from before had only skipped Nolan's head by a hairs breath, if his head was just a half an inch closer, he would have been left with a headless body.

"You little piss of shit, I'll let you see just how useless you are" Ra irritated voice rattled amidst the echoing sounds of the constant bullet.

"What the hell are you tal..." Before he could complete his sentence his vision blurred, the sounds of bullets now becoming a distant noise.

Everything within the periphery of his sight had blanked out now replaced by a red notification in front of him

-SYSTEM USURP ACTIVATED

-System has now assumed control of host body!

-Player has attained maximum level

-Rank: Transcended.

Nolan was shocked by the information, that only meant one thing to him, "Did Ra assume control of my body?" His voice echoed in the dark space.

Suddenly a screen winked into reality, right before his eyes. The screen appeared to be showing what was going on outside.

"Yes, Nolan, and I'm going to show you how useless you have been!" Ra voice rang out in the dark space, answering Nolan's previous question.

'Is he angry cause I said he's useless?' Nolan didn't know whether to laugh or cry, it appeared he had found the best way to make the system do the dirty work for him.

'I'll just sit back and enjoy the show' he wasn't certain if he'll ever be able to see Ra help him out in such a way again.

If Ra could read his mind at the moment he would probably be laughing to himself, because right after Nolan had decided to rest back and watch the show, another notification popped up in front of him.

-Damages will be incured on host body after use of system usurp skill.

-Host body cannot bear the great power of the system.

-Do you wish to continue with skill?

"Huh, what in the seven hells is this?" Nolan screamed out in shock.

"No! I don't want any of this happening" Nolan was more afraid of what the system penalties were for borrowing such power. So far he had known the system, it always loved using simple words to sugarcoat the actual truth.

Using 'Damages' in the statement earlier on, was just enough to make Nolan back out on using the skill. It was a plain word but knowing the system, it could be more worse than losing a simple life.

Nolan had expected the notification to disappear right after he had given his answer but the system screen still persisted.

"Nolan, you're getting it all wrong, you pipsqueak, it's me that gets to decide and I say 'Yes' " Ra casually, this was a way to really rub it off on Nolan, merely helping him in the name of showing his worth wasn't enough. With the option though now it could appear more like a punishment.

"Ra! The hell don't do this, I can handle the issue myself" Nolan shouted out in the empty space, but it appeared the latter only ignored him. This was somewhat showing him how Ra usually felt when he did the same to him.

A feeling of frustration mixed with annoyance. At the end he could only remain in the silence and watch the new scene unfold.

Earlier, from the first set of notification the system had mentioned something, and Nolan didn't fail in noticing it. "Well, I can only see for my self what a max level means"

Now he was going to witness the true power of Ra and see what benefits await him at the top of this game world, "The transcended Level!"
