Nolan and Emmy were locked in a tight spot, how they'd defeat the enemy was something they had no idea how to go about.
"Like how are we even meant to kill that thing?!" Nolan was pissed off, he had been attracting all sorts of trouble since he'd entered the game.
However, they both knew they had no time to ponder on what to do, as their enemy lunged directly towards them.
With haste, Nolan retrieved a second sword from his second space, ready for a fierce battle.
His eyes fixed on his enemy, his breath steady and slow, although still recovering from his injury. His steps were fast and a mere second the two entered into a fierce clash of swords.
Nolan's display from earlier completely paled in comparison to what he was doing now, each step and strike was well calculated, and now with the intent to kill.
Emmy couldn't hide the bewildered look on her face. The longer she stayed near the latter the more amazed he made her. But regardless of the shock, she knew very much that he needed her support.
"Ra, I know you're a bit pissed off, but I need help on this one, how do you kill an Undead?" Nolan asked. Despite being able to hold back for now, he was certain that he would tire out soon enough.
He was on the losing end, his enemies strength greatly surpassed his, he could tell from each contact their sword made. The hit from the beast were so powerful that it made his hands shudder, albeit slightly.
"Oh, so now you want pointers from the talkative?" Ra said, the sacarcsim clear in his voice, as though he knew Nolan would still eventually ask for his help.
"You know, if you could just do things, without having to make me tell you, I would have been more satisfied to have you as a system" Nolan bickered, barely dodging the beast attack by a hairs breath.
Talking to Ra and fighting at the same time was taking much of his attention and he needed his full attention on the beast to keep it at bay.
Emmy on her side wasn't slacking, but the fast regeneration of the beast, made her effort completely futile.
Nolan threw a downward slash at the beast, and it stood it's ground, not even making any attempt to dodge, as it threw it's own slash towards Nolan.
"The bastard is using its regeneration abilities " Nolan but his lip, upon noticing the death game the beast wanted to play with him.
Knowing fully well that it had the ability to regenerate after every strike, it wasn't even making any attempt to dodge any of Nolan's attack. Instead it used the opportunity to launch an attack of it's own, keeping Nolan in a tight spot.
Nolan took some steps back, to recollect himself and plan another decisive attack. Despite the difficult situation they found themselves in, Emmy found it hard to believe that Nolan still appeared to be so calm.
With the distance he had gotten from the beast he dashed forward, and with all his might thrusted his sword right into the chest region of the beast. Completely destroying the piece of ice crystals that were placed their and drawing out it's blue sticky blood that carried a pungent smell.
The odorous smell was so bad that Nolan had no other choice than to leave with his blade still stuck in the chest.
As he retreated a large spike of ice shot at him, catching him unaware. "Oh, shit!" He muttered as he was unable to dodge the attack.
The spike shot right at him, tearing his left shoulder open as it hung him to the ice walls.
"Nolan!" Emmy shouted, as she too hadn't seen such an attack coming. It was a quick reminder that the beast still possessed it's ice abilities.

That one strike had taken quite a lot from Nolan, leaving him with almost nothing. From the onset he was already aware that they couldn't win against the boss.
His plan was to create an opening that they could use to run, however, with the strength the beast possessed that was merely a pipe dream. His only hope of escaping unscathed was if the stupid system decided to give him the information he needed.
With the injury being a very critical one, coupled with the minimal injuries from before he was barely able to move any muscle again.

And just then the system also had to bless him with the most terrible news. It was over there was no way he could fight or even evade any attack from the beast again. All he could do was to wait and watch as one of his lives was going to be taken away from him.
And at that moment he could only hope on his last source, he couldn't afford dying off so early in the game. Even if he was to lose a life, he didn't want it to be in such a reckless manner. He knew they would be various daunting task to carry out in the later future.
Losing a life now would not only be detrimental but could cause a huge blacklash to him. The beast ignored Emmy, finding her presence of no importance.
The only person that had appeared to be troublesome right from the start, was Nolan. So far he had been the only person to completely come out from all the attacks unscathed and even killed off a lot of it's foot soldiers. If what was to take a pick, it wasn't smart but it knew it had to take him out first.
"Ra, you should know that if I die, you'll probably lose a lot as well, most of your system updates is yet to be completed, going back now will take even more time. This whole thing will do the both of us more harm than good"
His last resort was to persuade his wickedly evil system and pray it'd work, as the latter seemed to pay no interest to what was happening.
Each moment he spent trying to persuade Ra, the beast drew closer, the echoes of Emmys bullets kept ringing but didn't seem to stop the beast, and finally Nolan stood face to face with his first death.
