While the king was reading Corrado's letter , Frederick was in a different room and making himself comfortable in a chair, and was happily sipping some wine from his goblet. He was at ease and relaxed, reveling in the benefits of his close relationship with the king. Soon after, he felt the cup in his hand being almost completely filled with more wine by a servant who had appeared almost immediately after he had raised his cup in the air. Frederick sipped his wine, content with his position in the court, while eyeing the nobles who had invited him into his room.
