Family's problem

As the meeting concluded, both Pope Gregory X and Conradin exited the small tent where they had engaged in a lengthy and consequential discussion about the future of their relationship and the fate of the Kingdom of Sicily. The atmosphere outside was vastly different from the tense negotiations inside.

 

The sun bathed the camp in warm, golden light, casting long shadows on the soldiers who bustled about, preparing for the battle that loomed on the horizon but that would not come . Tents and banners from both sides were scattered across the field, forming a stark contrast to the serene natural landscape that surrounded them.
