Disrespectful Child

Rosalie have been Hermione's one and only best friend for a long time now. They met each other a year ago when Hermione first arrived in Avalon. When people mocked and threw stones and objects on her accusing her of being a witch. Just because her parents were both dead when she was a still a baby. And after that she disappeared without a trace.

The whole village began to doubt her identity when she returned to the Larabee's home, claiming to belong there. But when she showed them a scar that was caused from the fire that killed her parents that day. They had nothing else to oppose with than to call her a witch. Because her parents were both dead, how then did she manage to be alive after she disappeared completely as a child.

Some even went as far saying she was the one who killed her parents with the fire because her witchy abilities had started to manifest by that time.

Hermione did not know her parents in aspect of that family bond most children talked about. She just felt neutral. That did not mean she did not feel bad, of course she did. They were her parents after all.

She had later seen portraits of her mother and father. Though they were mostly burnt together with the fire but some of them were still seeable.

Her mother was a very pretty woman, her beauty knew no limits, and her father, she got her blonde thick hair from him, but most of her features were that of her mother's. The dark eyes and thin lips, everything about her.

Sometimes she would sit and think, how her life would have been if she knew them. How were they like and how would they have trained her while she grew up? But all those were wishes, wishes that could never come true in this life time.

And then…. Rosalie came into her life. She found a mother and sister figure in her. Despite the villagers hatred on her but she never once paid her attention to any of them.

Hermione remembered the day the villagers made fun of her and mocked her about being a witch, and one without parents. Hermione was just seventeen that year. She cried her eyes out while they threw stuffs at her.

"Bastards! Don't you old women and men have important things to do than make a young girl feel bad?" Rosalie had shouted at the elder people without minding.

"You disrespectful child, how dare you…."

"And how dare you mock at her without knowing the truth." Rosalie had not waited for the man to speak before retorting.

"Because people say so, you just follow along the crowd? Irreputable!" She spat.

"You!" One of them gritted.

"What proof do you have? Huh! Say, what proof do you have?" Rosalie bravely questioned, not minding that the people she were talking rudely to were her parents age mates.

"She killed her parents dear." A middle aged woman spoke.

"Were you there at that time?" Rosalie scoffed at the woman, making her feel ashamed for speaking up in the first place.

"Look at people who wants to train respectful and sensible children."

Rosalie spat before holding Hermione by her hand and walking away with her.

When they were out from the people's presence, Rosalie exhaled loudly. "How was I there, huh?" A wide smile bloomed on her face.

Hermione had never seen anyone smile at her so beautifully before. She smiled back and replied. "Great!"

"I am Rosalie Bexon, you should just call me Rosalie." Rosalie said as she wiped the tears from Hermione's face with her hands.

"I am Hermione." Hermione mumbled.

"I know, Hermione Larabee right?" Rosalie asked her.

Hermione nodded in response.

"Great, let me walk you to your home, is that alright?"

Is that alright? Of course yeah!

Hermione nodded again and Rosalie smiled.

From then on, they had a kind of bond that was stronger than that of sisters, a kind of bond that can never be broken.

Even when Rosalie's parents were against their friendship, Rosalie never left. She always stayed, just like she promised to.

. . . .

Hermione thought all of this while looking at Rosalie who held her index finger to her lips while she walked out to check the door.

Rosalie carefully turned the door knob open with her heart beating rapidly. Rosalie heaved a heavy sigh of relief when the person at the door was not who she expected. "Good evening Sir aspen." Rosalie greeted.

"What is the matter, why do you look so troubled." Kasper interrogated in concern.

"Hahaha….not…nothing sir Aspen." Rosalie forced a laugh.

Kasper strained his head to look behind her. "Is Hermione at home?"

"No…I mean…. Yes." Rosalie stuttered, shaking her head sideways.

"Can you tell her that I want to see her." Kasper requested and Rosalie nodded before going in after darting her eyes around the area one last time.

Kasper squinted his brows and looked behind him, seeing nothing he shrugged it off. He silently wondered why lady Bexon was acting quite weird today.

Hermione walked out with Rosalie behind her. "Good evening Kasper."

"Why did you suddenly leave without letting me know. I was worried when I could not find you." He scolded.

"I am sorry, I felt a little sick and when I saw the weather changing, I could not hold still and decided to rush home. I did not find you then."

The angry look on kasper's face had now been replaced with that of worry. "Are you alright now, or should I get you some medicine?"

"Do not bother, I am alright now."

"Yeah, I took care of her already. She is fine and healthy now." Rosalie immediately rushed to assist her friend with the excuse.

"Alright then, no wonder you looked too troubled earlier." Kasper said to Rosalie.

Rosalie responded with an awkward smile, while she exchanged glances with Hermione.

"I will leave you to rest then. Please do take good care of her." Kasper said, directing his words at Rosalie.

"I sure will, Sir Aspen." She replied with a slight bow.

With a nod Kasper turned around and left after giving Hermione one last look.

He was finally gone from sight. Rosalie sighed in instant relief and they giggled at each other.

Just when they were about turning to go back in. The heard a man's voice.

"Who amoungst you is lady Larabee?"

Hermione almost felt her legs give out.
