Defying Fate

Lily was surrounded by whirling winds, her doll-like head of hair dancing in the breeze. The silver-haired girl's left hand gradually transformed into a watery state, seemingly preparing to shape into a massive water blade.

"Alright, HERE WE GO!" Lily exerted her strength, raising both hands as a powerful gust burst forth from around her, aimed straight at the silver-haired girl.

"Hey!" The silver-haired girl agilely evaded the fierce gust, finally fully converting her left hand into a colossal water blade, which she then swung sharply towards Lily.

Quickly, Lily accelerated the rotation speed of the surrounding air currents, successfully cleaving the "water blade" into droplets.

Unexpectedly, the silver-haired girl pointed her right hand towards her own head. Suddenly, the water droplets around Lily began to gather, forming a watery arm that connected to her left shoulder.

"Uh-oh!" Lily realized she had fallen into a trap.

The water arm swung forcefully, and the fist hit Lily's cheek, her back of the head almost kissing the ground...

Lily promptly manipulated the air beneath her feet, tilting her head backward. Her hair lightly brushed the ground before she shot out like a cannonball.

This move was originally intended for a secret technique to be used in a duel with Brian. However, this battle unfolded differently, catching her off guard. Thus, deploying the secret move ahead of time seemed appropriate.

The silver-haired girl's expression turned to astonishment; she realized she had been lured into a trap!

BAM!

A gunshot rang out. A black-haired girl held a shotgun and appeared on the scene. A water wall formed by the silver-haired girl's water-formed arms managed to block the bullet, but the impact flung her away like a spring.

DONG!

The silver-haired girl's head collided with a lamppost. Her eyes started floating, and her entire head hung down slowly.

She had fallen unconscious.

"Could you cause fewer worries?" It turned out the black-haired girl was Janice.

"Thanks for the hospitality." Gray savored her steak, a content smile on her face.

"Hmph, don't forget it's me who paid." Gordon looked at Gray, who had even forgotten to have breakfast and fainted in front of him.

At that moment, a surge of pain hit Gordon, intense agony in a specific part of his body. He struggled to hold onto the back of the chair, maintaining his seated posture with great effort.

"By the way, what's your name?" Gordon inquired.

"Gray Chrissy."

"Gley..."

"Gray Chrissy." Gray corrected.

"...Gray?" Gordon cautiously asked.

"That's right."

"...Well, let's just go with Chrissy then. Gl...Gray is a bit hard to pronounce." Gordon suggested.

Gray nodded, agreeing.

"Could you explain why I got kidnapped?" Gordon questioned.

"To be honest, I didn't actually kidnap you. Those two were the ones trying to abduct you."

"Moreover, I know one of them."

"...!" Gordon leaned forward, "Who?"

"The silver-haired girl, I know her."

"What's her name?"

"She's..."

"Oh no." Gordon covered Chrissy's mouth with his hand, then gestured towards the three suit-clad men conversing with a store clerk.

Although Gordon didn't know their identities well, he had a hunch that these three men weren't up to any good. He decided to quietly leave.

Gordon raised his hand, trying not to draw attention. A waiter swiftly approached, and Gordon quickly pulled out his credit card, swiped it, and then hurriedly stood up, leading Chrissy towards the back door.

"What's happening?" Chrissy asked, puzzled.

"The appearance of the third person suggests they want to abduct you," Gordon briefly explained.

Gordon was eager to utilize his iron sand ability and turn invisible. However, such actions would attract too much attention. He opted for a facade of composure, gradually approaching the back door.

"There they are!" One of the suit-clad men spotted them.

"Damn it!" Gordon generated iron sand and commanded it to fly towards the three men.

Bang!

The three suit-clad men drew electronic dart guns, firing shots that shattered the iron sand.

Seizing their distraction with the iron sand, Gordon quickly opened the back door, intent on escaping this wretched place.

Before him was a parking lot, with a wall to the left that wasn't too high—just a bit of a jump required, provided one's height exceeded 150cm.

Fiu!

A sharp pain suddenly shot through Gordon's shoulder, but there was no gunshot sound. This indicated the gun might have a suppressor.

FiuFiuFiuFiuFiuFiu...!

He suddenly felt multiple impacts on his body. Was it gunfire from a machine gun? What was this new high-tech equipment?

Blood was rapidly draining from him, his legs growing weaker, his knees meeting the bloodstains on the ground. Meanwhile, Chrissy was attempting to climb over the wall. However, upon seeing Gordon's condition, she stopped.

Then, she was shot too, but only twice, both hitting her left leg.

AAAAA!

Chrissy's scream allowed Gordon to catch a glimpse of blurry images in the darkness. The sounds became muffled, and it felt like he was heading towards death.

"Take her." He heard someone next to him say, "Kill him to eliminate future trouble." It turned out to be the three suited men.

Gordon felt a gun muzzle against the back of his head. The picture suddenly became clear, and Chrissy continued struggling, held in place by the two suited men.

AMEN.

Gordon unintentionally said this word, and then he summoned a large amount of iron sand, rapidly spinning upwards. Simultaneously, he severed the gun barrel pressed against his head.

More blood was lost, but he could no longer focus on that. He exerted all his strength to stand up, opening his arms wide and spinning in place with one foot.

The iron sand gathered, then spun upwards at high speed. The person before him was mangled beyond recognition. Gordon was splattered with blood, and he could still hear the sounds of iron sand colliding with bones.

HA!

Gordon roared in anger, grabbing the heads of the two suited men. He infused their brains with iron sand. Chrissy saw as blood began to seep from their eyes and noses, followed by their eyeballs detaching. It seemed that the connection between their eyes and brains was severed. In an instant, their skulls collided with the wall, and then...shattered. The iron sand spilled out from their skulls, producing a distinct sound as it hit the ground.

Gordon looked at Chrissy, offering a bitter smile, then collapsed to the ground, never to wake again.

His final thought was: Why is this girl as troublesome as Elena and her sister?
