Vampire In Anticipation.

Christoph dropped the bomb on Evelyn and left the campus quickly. He wanted to prepare for tomorrow. More than that, he wanted to know what to do about an unmarked half-breed roaming in the city.

He drove back to the company office and headed straight to Evelyn. The lady was in a daze when she found Christoph entering the place. She pressed the button on the intercom and said, "Silvie, clean up half an hour for me."

The secretary outside nodded, and Christoph sat across her. Evelyn asked, "What was that about a half-breed? Do you think this is a joke?"

Christoph sighed and replied, "Do you think I would time in a lame joke with you?"

After a few seconds, Evelyn fell silent and said, "I have contacted the lady. She told me we could take her in as a family member, but she must stay in the Relic City for now and close to us. Suppose she was to be found and gaslighted by any hunter. You know full well what can happen."

Christoph nodded and said, "That can be arranged. Please have the public relation department discuss a few things with the Relic City University of Technology. Have Chichi and her team visit us. You can handle the conversation with her about this."

Evelyn nodded and took out her cell phone. She dialed a number. The call was quickly connected, and Evelyn said, "I need everything, from start to present, on a student named Chichi from the Relic City University of Technology. Make sure that you move undetected."

The operator nodded, and the call was disconnected. Christoph asked, "The back end?"

Evelyn nodded, and they waited. A few hours passed, Evelyn finished with some of her work, and Christoph spent his time reading about a few things about investment and finance. He was not clueless but not very profuse in this field either.

After three hours, Evelyn received an e-mail. The lady opened the file and said, "Come over, see this."

Christoph stood up from the couch and walked around her table to look at the screen. The back end has delivered what they asked for. The young man read, "Twenty years old, real name, Christmas Ching, born to a Sango woman and a Hanfu man. It says that her mother bought her up. As for the father…."

While he was skimming through the content, Evelyn pointed at a section and said, "Han Ching, killed by hunters. They investigated and tested the mother. However, they did not find any trace of vampire infection."

Christoph asked, "What about the child? Did they miss it?"

Evelyn nodded and said, "The plausible explanation would suggest that they investigated before the pregnancy was confirmed, and the fetus appeared like a regular ovum on the test."

Christoph nodded, but then he asked, "Over the years, Chichi did not consume a single drop of blood? How would you justify that?"

Evelyn replied, "Sango cuisine includes consumption of steamed meat and chicken blood soup. That should explain."

Christoph sighed and nodded, saying, "I hope they can come over tomorrow. The project they have can turn into a real cash cow."

Evelyn nodded and said, "We can use it for many things."

Christoph understood her intentions. They would easily finish the tasks if they had a vehicle that could move silently. The day passed quickly, and the two people came back home.

They found a middle-aged man waiting for them at the villa's door. Christoph asked, "What can we do for you, sir?"

The man replied, "Sir, I came from Chivalry car showroom here to deliver this vehicle to you."

Christoph was confused and wanted to say he did not order any vehicle when Evelyn said, "I called for this one. You can remove the one inside and leave this inside the garage."

The man nodded, and Christoph opened the gate. They got off under the porch, and the young man asked, "You changed the car? Why?"

Evelyn replied, "This sports car is too uncomfortable despite being fast."

Christoph smiled and then asked, "What about my bike?"

Evelyn turned around and said, "You must get the Lady's approval."

Exasperated, Christoph said, "I do not have her number…."

He had yet to finish exclaiming when his cell phone vibrated. Evelyn winked at him and went inside the house. Christoph took the call and said, "Hello."

The other side replied, "Hello, Christoph."

Christoph took a deep breath and said, "Good evening, Miss Silvermoon."

"Evelyn told me that you wanted a bike?" asked Ambrosia.

The young man replied, "Yes, but it was for better mobility and nothing else."

Ambrosia chuckled and said, "To think that someone was acting rather cockily before those hunters and even injured one of them."

The young man coughed and did not know what to say. Ambrosia talked to him about a few things about life and asked him about his state of mind. Christoph replied honestly that there had been times when his mood was completely different from usual. The mood swings and the erratic behavior, everything he explained.

In the end, Ambrosia said, "You must maintain calm and not let these feelings overwhelm your being. Yes, after going through a change like yours, such fluctuations are normal, but what's important is for you to control them and blend them with what you are."

Christoph heard everything she said keenly and replied, "Thank you for your guidance, Miss Silvermoon."

Ambrosia replied, "It is nothing. Your bike will be delivered to you in the morning tomorrow."

Christoph nodded and thanked her before the call was disconnected. He sighed in relief and entered the house to find Evelyn and discuss this.

Chichi and her team worked hard to write up everything they have done in the project till now and prepare a presentation. They have been to other investment firms a few times but were rejected, saying this project was way too advanced and impossible to use in mass production.

This time the biggest investment company has invited them. Even if they were to be rejected, they wanted to go down fighting. Chichi finished the last page and said, "I wonder if we can make it into the big leagues."

A young man said, "Let's hope for the best and do our best."

At this moment, the room door was opened from outside, and everyone found Chichi's mom standing there with a smile as she said, "Chichi, time for your midnight snack."

The girl nodded and left the room while her friends sighed. The lady asked, "What happened?"

Everyone asked, "How can she digest everything she eats and look like this?"

The lady replied, "Don't be jealous. She has a high metabolism than you guys."

They did not know that Chichi could listen to everything they talked about from the living room and frowned. Her eyes were frantic, but then she smelled the chicken blood soup and began swallowing it. She did not know why, but this dish would satiate it.

After dining, she looked at the moon outside and mumbled, "Please make everything go smoothly tomorrow."
