Attacked.

Christoph looked at the two men with a half-lit cigarette on his lips. He acted as if he did not know them. Ralph was getting agitated by such ignorance. They were tailing this guy with the help of their colleagues when they received a call from the director to pull back immediately.

The two young men were given an earful for acting willfully. The colleagues were not spared either. Ralph was enraged and even accused the director of being in leagues with the bloodsuckers. He was suspended for such a baseless thing, and Ricardo Blake clarified to everyone that the house of Silvermoon is the most rule-bound family.

Even the headquarters does not wish to enrage them in the slightest. Not because of anything else but because they knew that the original leading the family, Ambrosia Silvermoon was the most aloof and wisest among the inner circle. If she was to play against them, the results could be devastating.

The people had a hard time believing this, but then Ricardo allowed them access to a record of the Silvermoon family, and the people found the truth. Silvermoon family had never consumed human blood in the past thirty years. More than that, they did not spare any of the violators. Even the hunters would fail to win the race.

Ralph recalled everything in the office and said, "Aren't you some bigshot, then why hide behind the name? Why lay under the skirt of that shitty woman."

Christoph cast him a deadpan gaze. His eyes made Ralph freeze, and Christoph said, "Keep going."

His two words were akin to a bullet piercing through the glass heart of the young hunter. Ralph stepped forward, and Charles held his shoulder. The young hunter said, "Mister Silvermoon, are you trying to ensure a battle? Do you think that we will take all this nonsense of yours?"

Christoph exhaled a mouthful of smoke and dropped the cigarette on the ground as he replied, "The one responsible for nonsense is you, Mister Charles. I have not committed any offense, yet you and your friend are bugging me by following up and staking out. Do you think I will take it all?"

Ralph replied, "You will take it because you are a bloodsucker, not us."

Christoph would not let these people dance over his head and said, "You bunch of clowns are worse than a vampire. Your people kill civilians for the risk of disclosure of your existence and make it sound like some charity, and I think I have told you the same thing twice now.

I stayed here to tell you I am not afraid of your little tricks. If you ticked my nerve, I would take my actions, and the hunter council can decide if they wish to continue dealing with this nonsense."

That said, he turned around and was about to open the car when he sensed someone appears behind him. The speed was quick, and he almost missed it. The young man quickly turned, but a silver knife passed through his waist.

They would have winced and even screamed if it were a normal vampire. However, Christoph clasped the wrist of the attacker with his left, and his right moved toward the neck. The attacker was Charles, but he seemed to be aware of this attack, and with a smile, he reached out to hold Christoph's right hand.

Just when Charles thought this was settled, his smirk twisted and froze. Christoph smiled and said, "Did you think I do not have any tricks up my sleeves?"

His knee hit Charles on the most vulnerable part between his legs. The hunter was in shock and pain. This attack disrupted his breathing and threw his plan in disarray.

Christoph freed his right hand from the hunter's grasp and jerked his hand. A small silver knife popped out from it. The knife was sharp, and Christoph slashed it upward. The motion severed Charles's ear from his skull.

Finally, the hunter screamed, letting go of the knife stabbed into Christoph's waist, and the young vampire kicked Charles back in the chest. Ralph was still shocked because this exchange was beyond his expectation. Charles has always been a cautious person. His acting like this was a shock.

If this outbreak was not enough, the fact that Charles lost to Christoph was enough to shake his soul. The vampire said, "Take him to the hospital or wherever they treat scum like yours. My knife was coated with poison, and he will die in thirty minutes."

Ralph woke from the daze and yelled in rage, "You Bastard!! I will fucking kill you and the Silvermoon Family."

Christoph glanced at him and said, "Did you not hear that your friend can still live? Oh, I guess your kind prefers personal agenda over the lives of your comrades. Well, come on then. I will do my best so that he dies before me."

When Christoph threw his knife, and it dug into Charles's stomach, Ralph was still thinking. The victim groaned in pain, and Christoph smiled manically.

Ralph could not delay the rescue anymore and rushed to tend to Charles. The next moment, Christoph got into his car and drove away at the fastest speed possible.

He called Evelyn, and the call connected quickly. When the lady picked up the phone, she asked, "What is it? You cannot get out of cooking food."

Christoph took a deep breath and said, "I warned the two hunters, Charles and Ralph. They were the ones behind the stalking surveillance. Another thing, after warning them a bit, I wanted to get away, but Charles attacked me. I severed his ear and stabbed him in the stomach."

Evelyn was shocked and wanted to tell him this was dangerous, But Christoph replied, "I severed his ear and probably balls too. But that was all done to protect myself. I have the evidence needed to confirm all the doubts."

Evelyn calmed down and said, "Go back home. I will meet you there. Do you know how to treat yourself?"

Christoph replied positively and rushed to the manor. On the way, he used the pocket piece in his chest pocket and carefully removed the knife from his abdomen. His wound was seething with pain. It was akin to a fire raging to climb the rest of his body.

The young man drove home while Evelyn dialed the number of the Silvermoon Manner. She narrated the situation to Ambrosia, who replied, "I see. Look after him. I have something to do."

Suppose she did not know any better. She would have thought that Ambrosia did not care about Christoph. Ambrosia would raise a storm, and she would make it big.
