Jessica stared at the divorce agreement, feeling as if her mind had gone blank.
Had she misheard?
Did William say that he hadn't signed it?
How come he didn't sign the divorce agreement, especially after discovering her involvement in his mother's death? He was the one who always avoided her like a snake and wished to flay her alive.
Jessica remained quiet as she gazed at the divorce agreement. William smirked and tore it up himself. Then, he turned to the bodyguard behind him and spoke in a distinct tone, "Come, assist the madam to her room."
She didn't have time to react before the bodyguard lifted her up and brought her to a place she thought she'd never step foot in again.
She was led to the bathroom where she took a shower and changed into clean clothes. After that, she was taken to the bedroom that she had once shared with William.
During their short-lived marriage that she had begged for, William had always avoided sleeping with her in that bed. Countless nights, she sat at the bedside, waiting for him to return.
Now it seemed that kind of love was simply foolish to the extreme.
And today, as Jessica stepped into this bedroom once again, she saw William.
William was wearing a bathrobe and looked like he had just taken a shower. His footsteps echoed clearly in Jessica's ears. He slowly turned around, holding a glass of red wine, tall and graceful, just like the way that had once made Jessica's heart flutter.
"Come here," he said coldly.
Jessica didn't walk over. She didn't even know how to look at this man in front of her. Everything that had happened today felt like a nightmare, impossible to figure out and even harder to escape.
Seeing her frozen in place, William narrowed his eyes slightly, put down his wine glass, walked over to her, and then hugged her.
"Mr. Davis --" Jessica's voice trembled.
'What are you afraid of? If I remember correctly, even though we are married, I have never touched you. As husband and wife, it's natural to be intimate," William whispered, warm breath spraying in her ear, causing her whole body to tremble. "Besides, if I were to make you mine like this, do you think your fiancé could accept the fact that while he is still in jail, his fiancée is lying under another man? If he finds out, he probably wouldn't accept you anymore and you would be done with him, right?"
Demon - that was the only word in Jessica's mind right now.
This man was simply a demon.
How could she be so stupid to think that she could escape his control, start a new life, and find simple happiness?
'When will you release David?"Jessica asked.
David, David - Was she now talking about David in every sentence? The pressure of William's embrace tightened.
Once upon a time, didn't Jessica also treat him like this? She kept saying she loved him. Turned out, she killed his mother, destroyed everything he had.
It's totally ridiculous.
William pushed Jessica down on the bed and leaned over her.
"Mr. Davis, you said that if I moved into your place, you would let go -- um --" Jessica continued speaking, but was suddenly interrupted by William's kiss.
He must be insane!
William didn't know how long he had been thinking, but every time he saw her, all he could think about was the scene where David kissed her and teasingly asked if she had never been with a man before.
