Crazy (1)

Lando's eyes fluttered open, revealing a damp sheen of sweat on his forehead. His chest heaved, and each breath came out shaky and uneven. Bringing a hand to his face, he felt the cold dampness of tears, which had slipped from his eyes. "God…" he whispered, the weight of the memory still pressing down on him.

A creaking sound drew his attention, and as he turned, there stood Rylie, gracefully balancing a tray laden with food. Her eyes, full of concern, scanned him briefly. "You're crying. What's troubling you?" She moved with a familiar grace, placing the plates on the table and then making her way to his side.

Regaining some semblance of composure, Lando brushed away the remnants of his tears. "It's nothing. I just... when was the last time you saw them? My parents?" he asked, his voice quivering slightly.
