John kept his eyes shut, he didn't know what to say, up till date, no one except he and two other people knew where he went that day. He wasn't even ready to tell anyone about it. Deep down in his mind, he just wished everyone will forget about that day so he can live his life with no burdens and worries.
"Didn't you hear me?" Diva persisted. "I asked you a question and you find it very difficult to reply?"
"Please, turn off the lights and let me be. It's too late for this you are trying to do." He murmured and covered himself with the duvet. "I have a lot of work to do at the office tomorrow morning."
"Well, I am not leaving you until you tell me what I want to hear."
"I don't want to talk about it."
"You have to."
"You can't force me."
"John!" Her voice was loud.
"Stop yelling my name, it's dead late." His voice was calm.
"Am i that irrelevant to you all in this house that you treat me as though I am trash or with disease?"
John sat and looked straight in her eyes. "We are all just striving to forget about that day and live the best of our lives even after our friends are now our enemies." He paused. "The point is, we all don't want to talk about or remember that day."
"I w-"
"And all you do is bring up that horrible day." He interrupted her.
"How do you all expect me to keep calm and say nothing when I am completely in the dark?" She asked again.
"Well, you already know what everyone else knows, that I left home when I heard you were sent out of the country, and my drunk father came looking for me and he met with an accident."
"John, where were you that night?" There was a long silence. "You're not going to say anything?"
John laid on the bed and closed his eyes. "Good night."
"Earlier that day, you said you wanted to give me a gift, what was it?"
He sighed heavily. "Forget about all that happened between us those years, focus on the presence and prepare for the future."
"It's not easy to forget about you." Her voice was calm. "All the times I spent over there, I held you dearly to my heart. It was so difficult to be alone."
"I'm sorry, if I have hurt you in any forms, but I am sorry, I can't have any sort of romantic relationships with you anymore." His back was still facing her.
"But we had se-"
"You pushed me to it Diva."
Diva scoffed. "Then why am I here? It's like I am just wasting my time on you-" she stopped for a moment and continues. "I will return back home tomorrow." She walked out without turning the lights off.

"I'm coming!" Julie said excitedly as she matched to the door. "Look who's here!" She exclaimed as she opened the door.
"Who are you?" Monica had a confused look on her face.
"Will you stand there and keep asking who I am or come in?"
"Julie?" She asked again.
"Are you for real? Like you don't know who I am anymore?"
"What happened to you?" Monica touched her hair. "You look very different now."
"Well let's just put it under the new life thing." she made emphasis on the new life. "Please come in." she dragged her friend in and shut the door.
"Wow! This place looks so amazing!" Monica said looking round the apartment. "The interior decor is lovely."
"I am glad you think it is amazing." Julie sat on the three seater couch and tapped. "Have your seat."
"Girl! You must have spent a lot to get these things done." she sat close to her. "I mean, take a look at yourself now, you look so pretty now, even Daniel will regret his actions now."
"Thats not true." she sighed. "He saw me of recent and didn't seem to be moved a bit."
"That piece of shit!" Monica cursed beneath her breath. "I came across something today." She pulled out her phone and showed Julie a picture.
"This is Maria." She zoomed in the picture. "But I think it is an old picture."
"What else can you see or notice?"
"Nothing, she has always been pretty-"
"She had no glasses on." Monica cuts her off. "Can't you see it?"
Julie zoomed in the picture again. "That's true, and her eyes seemed just fine."
"Didn't she tell you she had always been on glasses ever since she was a child?"
"No." Julie shakes her head. "I don't want to believe that."
"Accept reality Julie, these people were in on it together all along. Do you know how much you paid for the fake eye surgery?"
"So, they used me all along? Daniel never loved me from day one?" She asked holding tears in her eyes.
"I am afraid so."
"Bastards!" She exclaimed and covered her head in both palms. "How can they do this to me? Why me of all people? I swear to you I was loyal to them, I was ready to do all for them, I was ready to break my back for them, and I thought they thought the same of me."
"It is what it is girl."
Julie raised her head and the tears were smeared all over her face. "Where did you come across this picture?"
"On Facebook, apparently she didn't delete all her old photos, so I took my time and went through them one after the other."
"I thought he loved me first and Maria snatched him, that was why I kept calm and cool not trying to fight back."
"And now?"
"I don't even know." She broke down it tears and leaned on her friend. "It's so painful to feel used."
"I understand you dear, I know how horrible you might feel right now, but just fight it off." Monica gave her some pats on her back.
