John still had the not happy look when he entered his office, with his left arm he dropped his bag carelessly and the table and Neo did him a favour of repositioning it.
"Remind me, I want to visit spotlight this evening after work." John sat and puts on his reading glasses.
"What for?" Neo sat opposite him.
John picked some documents and started going through them. "I need to find that girl, Julie, I must see her."
"You need to see a harlot? For what reason?"
"Look here." John pushed the documents he was reading earlier aside and removed his reading glasses. "We can't call someone who refused to take money after sex a harlot. I told you she is very different from every other girl."
"John, so you are saying, because she refused to take any money from you, she isn't a harlot?"
"Most definitely, she was even living there, do harlots stay where they work?"
"Some of them do, if they have no other place to stay." Neo exhaled sharply. "This young lady has nothing good to offer, you shouldn't expect much if her."
"But I can't seem to get her off my head."
"Thats because you keep thinking of her all the time, try your best as much as possible to forget about her." There was a knock on the door. "Are you expecting someone?"
"Maybe its the secretary." John puts on his reading glasses again. "Come in!" His voice was ordering.
"Sir! We have a problem at hand." Lydia said even before entering the office. But the way she banged the door behind her explained how pissed she was.
"Easy girl, I know you are pissed already." Neo was trying to calm her.
"There will come a day, you will break this door and I will be very offended if you see me as a bad person when I deduct the damages from your salary." John took off his reading glasses for about the second time or so.
"We're not accepting this!" Lydia banged her hands on the table. "Yoir uncle wants to be an investor on the new product we are working on."
"What?" Neo shoked his head.
"That's so impossible! Where is he going to get that amount of money from?" John stood and deep his hand into his pockets.
"I hope you are not forgetting the fact that this man in question is a parasite that lives off your mom." Lydia folded her arms. "Have you ever even thought of it? What did your uncle spend that ten years monthly allowance he gets from your mom?"
"So, you are saying, that my uncle had been saving the money all these while?"
"Apparently, that's the only thing we can assume."
"John." Neo called almost whispering. "If we don't do something about this man on time, he will forever be a pain our ass."
"So what am I to do now? I am so confused." John took a short walk round his office thinking of what to do. "We aren't accepting his offer."
"Based on what sir?" Lydia asked.
"I don't know." John shrugged his shoulders. "All I know is we aren't accepting his offer."
"We can't do that John, this company is so broke, we spent our last note on this mighty product we've been working on, we need investors to keep it running. What do you think the shareholders would do when they hear you turning down an investor?" She didn't allow him to respond. "They are going to rebel!"
"I agree with her too, I don't think we should take any chances." Neo Concurred.
"You both don't know what you are talking about." He walked back to his seat and sat. "Allow that lump be an investor in a company where he is the third largest shareholder?" He humped. "It's never going to happen."
"Stop day dreaming young man." Lydia said calmly. "The only way you can stop this from happening is if you do the investing yourself."
"But how?! Me and my mom have invested more than half of our entire life savings or worth. If we try investing anything now, we would be forced to take a loan."
"Don't you dare." Neo's voice was a bit threatening. "Have you forgotten how much the interest is? Don't forget you still have investors and staffs to pay."
"Look John, I think we are left with no choice than allowing your uncle in as an investor. If you insist on investing again, you and your mom might hit the extreme rock bottom."
"Like going back to the streets where my mother came from." His voice was almost quiet and his eyes were lifeless.
"Get yourself together man." Neo tried to cheer him up.
"Don't try to make him feel like things are good when it obviously isn't." Lydia snapped.
"Do you have to always be like this?" The office land phone rang. "Go answer the call."
"Yes?" She asked with an heavy frown as she answered the call. But the frown soon turned to a smile. "Are you for real? Oh my God! Bring it to Mr. John's office right now." She dropped the call grinning from ear to ear.
"What's wrong?" John asked bitterly.
"We have arrived at a success point with our product!"
"Really?"
"Yes." She nodded with smiles.
John gently bowed his head and whispered. "Thanks gracious God."
"I believe you know this is the time we need more investors. The packaging, branding, advertising and marketing will consume a lot."
"Of course Lydia, I do." John sighed heavily. "Allowing my uncle is still what I'm contemplating on."
"Well, I think you should just allow him. Since the product is set already, it's very certain that the company is going to make lots of profit." Neo added.
"I mean who doesn't want to get small portable two in one device that can be used as phone holders while seeing movies or making videos and at the same time charging it?"Asked Lydia.
"The coolest part is that, the device is foldable, meaning one can take it anywhere in the world." Neo supported.
"I hope so." John smiled. "Well, it's all thanks to my intellect."
