Preparation

Jameson stood there with his jaw dropped. The sight was astonishing to say the least.

"You see what I mean? It can't cut anything but flesh." The young man held the sabre whose blade was in smoke, scattered in the air. "If it hits anything but flesh, it scatters like dust, and then comes back together once near flesh. If it doesn't touch flesh, it won't go back to basic form."

The information was a little unexpected. How could such a blade even function? It would be great when attacking someone, but what if there wasn't anyone to attack? It was essentially useless except in killing. It was best suited as a blade for execution at this point.

"What's the price?" Yet, something about it attracted Jameson. He didn't know why, but seeing the blade made him feel all gitty. A feeling he was not used to. Atleast, not anymore.

"The price?" The young man was taken a back, but he still kept a professional smile. "The price is two hundred thousand. Although it's a nice looking sabre with a unique property, it's been on the market for much too long and not many like it's functions. Someone actually bought it a while back but brought it back as it could at most be used as an executions blade." The young man leaned forward. "A little heads up. If you did want this sabre, if there is no flesh nearby you can use your own to put it back in place, however you would need to cut yourself often. It's truly a self harming executioners blade."

This was also a conclusion that Jamesons had thought of, though he didn't know if that would actually work per say. Luckily, it would. Or was that really 'luckily'? "That is fine. Two hundred thousand? I can grab it." He had the funds. Though his home costed a whipping ten million, he actually hadn't sold it just yet. He sold many of his other items, such as car, jewellery, computer, and so much more before amounting a small futures of thirty thousand. All the stock he had, he also pulled, including any property he had invest in, which allowed him to have a grand total of around six hundred thousand for immediate use.

'I won't sell the house until the end. I want to see if I can push for an even higher price.' That was his goal atleast. More money meant a higher chance of survival. Plus, he really wanted to get everything to protect himself for when he left for the other side. He had heard a few rumours, which frightened him. There was a reason the Qua sect wanted to settle down on Earth rather then staying on the other side.

"Alright, I'll get the this sabre ready for you. Aside from this, I have a few unique knifes and guns which I do recommend for you to get." Behind the glass, the young man pulled out a few trays. Each tray held various types of weapons in the gun and knife category. There were four for each.

"Is this the only selection?" Jameson wondered while still glancing at 'Tainted White'. He just couldn't keep his eyes off of it.

"We have more, but this is the best for people who are only getting a hang of knives, plus their properties are not any worse then the other options." The young man pulled out another pamphlet and handed it over to Jameson. "Each of our weapons are unique. We do not make copies, that includes the property as well. Although we have the capabilities to create the same weapon again and again, we don't do that. Our company likes the idea of unique weapons, which is why no one weapon is worse then another, it's just different."

Nodding his head, Jameson looked at the knives first. They varied in size and colour. The shape was also unique for each. Putting his hand over to one of the knives with a curved blade, he lifted it up with ease. "This is one is similar to those pocket knives that one would find in games."

The young smiled brightly after hearing that. "I didn't think you were a gamer."

"I'm not, I have just seen it a few times. Plus, I did play a bit when I was younger. Most did." Gaming was normal for children and teens, so knowing a few things was not abnormal.

"That makes sense." The young man coughed as he felt embarrassed at his sudden excitement. "But you are correct. This knife shape is most practical, plus it is easier to use. It feels more like an extension then an actual extra weapon, so our blacksmith make most knives in this style." Reaching over, the young man flipped a few pages on the pamphlet before landing on a certain page. "This is the information about this knife. It's fairly useful for those who hunt lots."

Staring intensely at the page, Jameson was shocked yet again. 'Everything is so mystical.' He sighed internally at how the world changed so suddenly. The knife in his hand had a dark purple hilt, with a bright yellow blade. Though a weird look for a knife, it was still pleasing to the eye. Plus, the colour combination was actually beautiful.

'Dead Star'. That was the name of the blade. It was made out of a material found on the other side. Star Core Powder. The blade had a searing ability when touching any metals or flesh. If someone is stabbed with this knife, the area stabbed would begin to sear and burn. Flames would not erupt like in the movies, it would just blacken because of the heat. The purple hilt also had a use, it was meant to use the night sky to cool the blade so it wouldn't constantly burn, only on contact. 'Seems like a good knife. I'll just get it. The price however is the same as the sabre.' His eyebrows knitted as he began to rub his chin, which was barely noticeable. 'Fuck it.'

"So, does that blade interest you?" Being a salesman, the young man could see the interest right away. He wouldn't go off and try to sell anything more as he knew about a potential budget. Though, what it was didn't matter to him too much. Even the smallest item was a good commission.

"Yes. I'll probably just grab this one. It feels comfortable to hold. It's light like a feather, plus it has a great property." Though he could look at the other options, he felt no need to. He didn't want to hamper his decision, plus this knife was good enough. "Next would just be the gun."

"Of course. Guns are a little unique, where the properties are mostly in relation to the bullets themselves. So, any gun you like can be used, the bullets is what holds the property." Hearing his words, Jameson nodded his head in understanding. It was like enchanting arrows rather then the bow.

In the past, Jameson had used a gun, though it was just in a shooting range. He liked the idea of pistols as they were more portable and could be hidden better.

"I like the Desert Eagle." He pointed at a gun he recognized. "Give me this sand colour one."

"Alright." Pulling out the gun, he placed it on the counter. He put all of the trays away, leaving only the three weapons on the table. "Next, we can decide on the bullets."

Another pamphlet was pulled out. The young man went to a particular page. "These are the mags, the bullets, and each of their properties."

There wasn't a large variation, only around four. This made things easier. "How many bullets can each mag hold?"

"That's the special feature of the mags." The young man spoke with a deep smile. "The mags we design are unique as they are made from a material called 'Other Clay'. It has spatial properties." The young man flipped a few pages and circled a paragraph. "The mags have a space of around a sky scraper. Making each mag itself worth more then fifty thousand."

"That is a hefty price, but it makes sense." Jameson was surprised that the price was actually so little. A skyscraper was not small space. That was enormous. His eyes moved left and right as he read the description. 'So, it can only hold 2 different types of bullets at a time? Maybe that's why the price is low, but that still shouldn't be the case. I would expect each mag to be worth about a million. The 'Other Clay' must be a very cheap material to access.' As he thought along these lines, he became even more curios about the other side.

"How much per bullet?" Jameson asked as he flipped back to the original page. There no price, just the four types of bullets.

"We charge per refill of a mag, not per bullet. The price would be a hundred thousand to fill a mag for the Desert Eagle." The young man answered with a smile.

Hearing his words, Jameson looked up with a single tear falling down his face. 'Why is everything so expensive?'

Walking out of the shop, Jameson kept his head low. On his back was a large cylinder which held a his sabre, knife, and a few scabbards for each. On his hip was the desert eagle, with a mag attached to it already. He bought a second mag just in case, which is inside of the large cylinder like bag. The bullet properties were simple. He chose the searing for one, which matched his knife. While the second bullet type was explosive upon impact.

"Although based on the abilities, the price seems cheap, the fact is, I completely spent something I was saving for over thirty years. Just for three weapons?" He sighed. The world really had gotten expensive.

He pulled out his phone and swiped with a sullen expression. 'I only have less then ten thousand left.'

There were still few things he really wanted to get. One being clothes to help survive on the other side. Although he could sell the house and potentially get everything he needed, the issue was getting to the other side. A single soul coin costed around a million. However, to get to the other side, a single soul coin was not enough. He would need to pay others a little, and make sure he had funds for the other side. Soul coins were a higher currency, even on the other side. Which was great if he was able to save a few before gong to the pier side.

"Jameson!" Suddenly, a voice called out from behind.

Turning his head, he saw his friend. The only one left. Leo.

"Hey!" He stopped and began walking towards him. "Are you getting prepared as well?" Both had come to a decision to get things ready for the other side the best they could. They would help each other out as well if something was needed.

"I only got a few things." Leo sighed bitterly. "I was only able to obtain a gun and a spear from 'Dark Smiths'. What about you?" Leo looked at the cylinder on Jameson's back with curiosity.

"I got a sabre, knife, and a gun as well." He then pointed at the name of the place, causing Leo so smile bitterly.

"Why would you go to such an expensive place? How much do you have left?" SyGuild was no small name, and its prices were just as loud.

"I have less then ten thousand. I haven't sold my house yet though." Jameson spoke bitterly.

"WHAT?!" Leo was shocked. "Didn't you have over six hundred thousand? How did you spend so much?"

"SyGuild was truly not a cheap place." Jameson didn't go into details and just walked along with Leo. "Forget about that. We need to take the next step, which is obtaining clothing, food, and much more before heading towards the portal. We also need to somehow get information about where we will land."

"Oh, I was able to use my connections." Leo smiled and pulled out a ring. He handed one to Jameson, and lifted his hand, pointing at the other one. His eyes went red as he smiled bitterly. "My daughter secretly gave these to me."

"Spatial rings?" Jameson was shocked. Spatial rings were more expensive then even soul coins. They usually costed more then a five soul coins per. "How did you get this? Wait, how did you even get into contact with your daughter?"

Leo looked up as a tear came down. "She came to me. We spoke last night and I told her my plans. Her new dad is an elder in the Qua sect, so getting these rings was no difficult task for her. Heck, she is engaged to one of the core disciples of this sect. They didn't even ask me!"

The two became silent. Once they learned about their own bodies, they knew that their talent may not be lower then then Qua sect members, which was why the latter was so giving to the new members. Plus, when the world was taken over by the essence, people began to change physically. Not only did they become a more perfect version of themselves, they were purified once again. Their bodies became untouched, like a new borns. Which was also why many Qua members even took in married women. Those women were pure virgins with the essence spreading on Earth.

"Just take it. She said it was simple for her to get a soul coin, but she couldn't do that as she would be caught. A soul coin on Earth only has one use, getting to the other side. So, she couldn't get that for us." Leo spoke bitterly, but Jameson didn't mind. He already knew this.

"Well, this is great either way. To think we would have a spatial ring already." Jameson sighed. The process of attaching a ring to himself was well known. Just a drop of blood. He lifted his gun and used its edge to cut his finger a little. A small drop formed, dropping onto the ring.

A bright light flashed from the ring, almost blinding the two. This was the process. The way of binding the ring.

Once the light settled, Jameson placed the ring on his finger and smiled. It was a tight fit, but still got through. "Alright. Thanks."

"No need for thanks. We're suffering together, haha." Leo laughed. Jameson noted his head as he frowned a little. "Wondering on how to use it?"

"Yes, how do we?" They knew basic things, but they never had practical experience. It was just a few days they were drunk on the road.

"Here is the thing." Leo smiled with a red face. "We can't actually use these until we can cultivate. Until then, these rings are useless."

"The fuck!"
