Chapter 26: The big day

The next morning, David scrubbed his skin hard, removing most of the tan. He again shaved his face, again pulled out as much of his hair as possible, and again used Vaseline to make it stay down. This time, though, the wig he put on was shorter; brown hair with gray peppered through it.

He put on the same black pants and black shirt, the same tool belt around his midsection. But this time, over top of it he put on a sky blue shirt with a white collar, a bright red business power tie, and a dark blue pinstriped suit. His ears remained unpierced, and the ring on his right hand became a class ring from a business school, with a simple gold band on his left hand. He smiled as he looked down at the class ring. That ring was the reason Alex, the man Jessica had identified, had a false tooth and a hair lip scar.
