Chapter 46: The escape

She was at a loss for words, and for a few seconds just let him drag her along. Then she shucked off his hand and moved with him. Soon they were running, down the concourse, away from the restaurant and away from the downed FBI agent. More importantly, they ran away from Collins.

He led her to a food court, and then yanked her back as a gunshot exploded a soda resting on a counter. He heard a Russian curse.

David looked around desperately. Collins was coming from behind him. There was someone ahead of him who wanted him dead. Collins had set a trap. David had to find one of them, had to see where at least one of them was. He had to take care of one threat. He couldn’t just sit there and wait for Collins to close the trap, to catch him in crossfire.
