“Okay, Steve.” She let out a breath and smiled at him. “What do you have so far?”
“Well.” He cleared his throat. “All the dragons are like dukes. They each control a small portion of the land. Some of the dragons are even kings. Those are the bigger, older, and more powerful ones.” He looked at her for some kind of approval.
Autumn did her best to keep her face a blank mask. She gestured for him to continue.
Steve blushed and turned back to his notes. “The story is about one of the minor dukes, found dead in his lair by some of his human courtiers. They have to figure out who did it within the next two months, or else the other dragons will kill them all when they find out about it. The humans need a perpetrator to hand over as soon as the information leaks out, in order to save their own lives.”
She leaned back. “Not bad.” She scratched her head. “Why two months?”
