Autumn looked at Montana. “What is it?”
He shook his head. “Nothing. Don’t worry about it. I think you got the job because you’re not famous. But don’t worry about it. It’s a job, and it pays really well.”
She nodded. “You’re right. It does. It lets me keep going for another few years.”
“Will that be enough?”
She felt her cheeks getting warm. “Didn’t I tell you about that?”
“What?”
“My agent sold my new book. I’m going to have a second novel.”
Montana gushed. “That’s awesome! When did you write a second book?”
