Chapter 40, Restaurant Opening (1)

Everyone woke up and did their morning training, after which they had breakfast. While they were still gathered at the table, Li Juanxin saw it was the best time to introduce Fluffy to them. 

He picked up the fox and put it on the table. "Everyone meet Fluffy, my beast pet. Fluffy, this is my family; My older brother Jian, second brother Han, third brother Cheng, fourth brother Zhang, fifth brother Sheng, and sixth brother Xuan."

The white fox looked at him from behind a little paw and hoof with disdain, Juanxin was able to understand what it was saying, he answered; "That's right, I'm the youngest. Don't worry, we might be many, but we're not short on food."

Li Juanxin was excited to introduce his family to his pet, never did he expect the fox to be more concerned about them running out of food. 

"Hahaha, I like this fox, we should be good friends." Jing Xuan  while giving him a pat on the back. As soon as his hand touched its back, the fox fur stood up furiously and let a piercing screech ready to attack at any moment. Everyone was stunned by it, this little fox has a strange temper.

"I wasn't wrong about you." Li Jain nodded approvingly.

Meanwhile, Juanxin was confused by the fox's behavior. "What's wrong Fluffy? Uncomfortable? You don't have to attack brother Xuan, he's a good person." Juanxin smooths the fox fur down so that it looked less aggressive, the fox didn't move, just glaring back with a dead stare. He couldn't believe this cute and innocent fox turned out to be a ferocious beast.

Thinking that the fox might not like Jing Xuan, he tried to let his other brothers pat it, but the reaction was the same. "Why is it so aggressive?" His expression changed from confused to sad in a blink of an eye.

"It's a natural behavior of a beast. It doesn't know us, therefore it's reasonable for it to be on guard against us." Li Yujian's answer. The others nods and agree

"But I only got it this morning and it is like me." Juanxin pouted.

"He is your contracted pet, of course it sees you as its master." Li Cheng added

"Your brothers are right. Since Fluffy will be living here, he will get used to everyone in a few days and his reaction won't be aggressive anymore." Li Jain said

Juanxin's eyes lit up as if he had  been enlightened, he smiled brightly and lifted up the fox, he placed it right in front of Li Jain: "Look Fluffy, this my daddy. Do you like him?" The fox didn't show the slightest bit of interest. Instead, it stared at Li Jain, looking bored. But it didn't show any aggressive behavior, making Juanxin have a sigh of relief. "Luckily, you didn't react. If you had, I would've thrown you out the window." He patted on the fox's head affectionately, making it purr.

The fox looked at him with  curious eyes, as if asking "So aggressive?"

Juanxin nodded, "Yeah, I can also be aggressive at times."  After hearing that remark, the others laugh at his words.

"The restaurant will be officially open tomorrow. Xiao Sheng, I want you to send this invitation to boss Wu, old man Ling who sells talismans and boss Lan. Xiao Jian, you should accompany him." Li Jain gave the instructions and handed three cards to Jing Sheng.

 "Give these cards to each one of them." Li Jain continued. "These talismen are for the old man, tell him to pay according to the quality."

"Ok, we'll be on our way now."  Jing Sheng answered before leaving along with Yujian.

They took a passenger carriage to Boss Wu Everlasting Herb shop.  When they arrived, the bell rang indicating that the door opened, the smell of herbs hit their nose immediately and made them   feel very satisfied. They walked towards the counter and saw boss Wu working with a few people. The two young boys went and stood next to him while waiting for him to finish his work.

"Hello, Uncle Wu," Jing Sheng called out when the people talking with boss Wu left.

"Hmm, oh, it's the mini version of Xiao Jian. Good day, how are you today?" Boss Wu greeted back with a smile, as usual, he was really busy working with a bunch of plants and he didn't even give them time to breathe.

"You seem really busy." Yujian commented while looking around the shop. They could see all kinds of ingredients hanging from the walls, herbs and spices hanging above their heads like colorful Christmas lights. The aroma coming from all the herbs and seasoning makes them feel very content.

"Oh, another son of Xiao Jian?"  Master Wu's eyebrows raised with surprise, he remembered Xiao Jian mentioning he has seven sons. What lucky bath water that kid used when he was young. 

"You can tell?" Yujian ask in disbelief

Boss Wu chuckled lightly and nodded:" Yes, I can. After all, your temperament is quite similar to him." He pauses and turns to Jing Sheng, "What brings you guys here?"

"We just came to deliver an invitation letter for a restaurant opening. My dad's restaurant will be opening tomorrow, he wants you to be the first person to come by this evening to try the dishes." Jing Sheng answered and gave him the invitation.

"Xiao Jian is a loyal friend. I'll be there later."  Boss Wu replied.  

"We'll be on our way now." 

"Take care. It was nice meeting you, another version of Xiao Jian."  Boss Wu continued. He waved goodbye at them while they returned the gesture back before they walked away.  

"Where are we going next?" Yujian asked as they walked along the street.

"The old man who sells talismen is next. So we'll go to his place first."

The *P* talismen shop is the only talismen shop in Qingyuan town.  It's small but well kept and the interior is decorated lavishly. There are many shelves inside full of different kinds of talismen and herbs, they are lined neatly from floor to ceiling with every kind of talismen you could think of.

"Here, we are."

"If you're not here to buy talismans, don't come in." An angry old voice sounded before they could enter the shop.
