Chapter 41, Restaurant Opening (2)

Jing Sheng and Li Yujian stopped in their tracks when they heard an angry shout from inside. They look at each other and exchange an amused glance as the shouts grew louder before it stopped abruptly. "What should we do? This old man has a grumpy temper!"

"Let's go back!" Yujian was straight forward with his response. "If you want to give something, let's give it later." 

"What about the talismen that  daddy told us to give him?" Jing Sheng asked loudly, they were trying to get the old man attention

"What about it? We can sell it to shops in Fengwu city. They will give up a more reliable deal. Unlike this shop,which seems to break down soon." Yujian shrugged before continuing to walk.  

" Hey brats! Where do you think you're going? " The old man  who seemed to be waiting for them shouted. They both turned around and saw he had been sitting there watching for some time but neither of them paid him any mind.  

"We are not here to buy a talisman, can we still enter?" Yujian asked, deliberately repeating the old man's words.

The corner of the old man's mouth twitched when he realized no one would be taking him seriously. He huffed and crossed his arms. "This is a business trip not a charity mission, if you're not here to buy but here to sell, you can still come in."

After saying so, he heard a chuckle from the two boys as they slowly walked closer to the door. The smile on their faces widened as they finally noticed the old man was glaring daggers at them.

"We're sorry sir, did you say something?" Yujian smiled while speaking, as if the old man just said something funny.

"You are the sons of that brat! Why are you here?"  The old man asked.

"Well, my dad is about to open his spiritual restaurant, he asked us to invite you this evening for a free trial. He also told me to give you these talismen and you should pay it worth.," Jing Sheng answered, shrugging his shoulders as if he didn't care about being scolded by the old man but instead thought it was kind of funny.

"He believed you to be an honest old man; hopefully you'll live up to his expectations and not rob him." Yujian added  nonchalantly but there was an underlying tone of warning which caused the old man's glare to sharpen slightly.

After a moment, the old man spoke up again. "It's good that you have a bad sense of humor. Fortunately, I have a bad one too. But if you ever need help with anything, don't hesitate to ask."

After receiving the talismans, the old man used his spiritual energy to inspect them and was shocked that they were all high quality.  It took him a few moments to collect himself and calm down.    Finally, he turned to face the two boys and gave out instructions. "Tell your father, I'll get back to him in a few days concerning the talisman."

 After seeing the boys' nod in understanding, he waved his hands. "Get going now, this place is not for charity, you can't afford staying here."

"The place we're living in is better than this your dumb shop! Let's go Sheng, see you soon old man." Yujian laughed, giving the old man a wave before turning away with Jing Sheng and leaving the shop.

"Now we just need to go to *Joyous Restaurant."

Joyous Restaurant was located near the main market in Qingyuan. It was a big restaurant with three floors, and there were over twenty customers that crowded the room whenever they could, enjoying good food. It was very popular among its clientele. 

 The shop attendant didn't know Yujian but he recognized Jing Sheng who came with Li Jain the last time and the boss seemed to value them very much. There when Jing Sheng asked for boss Lan, he didn't give them trouble and went to inform the boss.

 While Jing Sheng waited for him to return, he continued his conversation with Yujian. "The Joyous Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in this town and among all their competitors, their business seems to be doing very well. Well, some of the credit can also be given to daddy who sold novelty recipes to them."

"Since father is opening a restaurant, why did he sell his recipes to another restaurant?" Yujian raised his eyebrows and inquired.

Jing Sheng shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe it was to increase revenue, besides, father is opening a spiritual restaurant which is different from normal restaurants which is why he's not afraid of competition."

"Good point."  Yujian nodded his head thoughtfully. 

"It's you Li brothers. What can I do for you?" Boss Lan's voice sounded from behind, he walked toward them.

"Boss Lan, we bring you an invitation." Yujian handed the invitation card to the boss. He opened the     invitation and looked at it briefly then glanced at their faces and chuckled. "Ok, I'll be there later." After closing the invitation, he placed it back into the pocket of the apron. "Do you guys mind coming in for a snack?."  

Yujian shook his head. "Thanks for the offer, but we better get going."

Lan nodded his head. "Ok then, be careful on your way back."

Li Yuhan stood outside the Yan family gate with a complicated expression on his face.  His gaze kept shifting between the gate and mansion.  He clenched and unclenched his fist in frustration. He had only left the Yan mansion a day ago only to return the next day. The Yan family won't think he was sold again right? After hesitating for a moment, he knocked on the door.

The security opened the door and was surprised when he saw Li Yuhan standing there, but he didn't say anything and let him in. Since the Li brothers have lived there for a year, and with the protection of the family head, the workers show them respect.

As soon as Li Yuhan entered, he was met with the annoying twin Yan brothers. Yan  Zhenghao looked at him with curiosity. "Why are you back? Did your irresponsible father abandon you again?"

Li Yuhan took a deep breath as he put his hands behind his back. He closed his eyes, trying to suppress his anger. "You're talking so well today. Is it because Jain is not here? For sometimes, I even suspected you've become dumb. Given how cawordly you've been in Jian's present." He said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

Yan  Zhenghao's face darkened. "Shut up!   You have no right to speak to me like that you little bastard.'' Yan Zhenghao shouted and glared at Li Yuhan. 

Li Yuhan was about to answer when he felt a cold aura behind him. The twin also ran away, Li Yuhan slowly turned around feeling uneasy.

" Yuhan, why are you here? " Said the Yan family head who appeared suddenly. 

 "Greetings to the family head. My dad asked me to deliver this invitation to you. He also said, if you can't make it, you'll be missing one of the best moments in your life." While saying so, Li Yuhan was crying in his heart. How could his father tell him to say such words to the Yan family head? Right now, he doubts he'll get out alive.

"Oh, really?"  The Yan family head's brow twitched slightly as he eyed Li Yuhan with slight suspicion. 

Li Yuhan was so frightened, he almost knelt on the ground; only to hear a laughing sound above him.

"Your father is very interesting. tell him I will be there later this evening. Whatever it is, it should better be worth my time." With that said, the Yan family head walked past Li Yuhan with a satisfied grin.

Li Yuhan breathed a sigh of relief and left the Yan mansion with his tail between his legs.
