Chapter 54, His Child was Kidnapped

The moon was very bright tonight . The sky seemed clear and the only sounds came from a faint rustling of the trees in the breeze. At this time of the night, The street was quiet and all residents had their door closed, either sleeping or meditating.

Under this clear moonlight,  you could see a black shadow roaming around the building of the Spiritual Tavern.  This figure looked like he would disappear in thin air anytime now as it turned into smoke and flew into the restaurant.   In a moment, the black figure reappeared from one of the walls.

Li Jain who was meditating on the bed opened his eyes at the presence of an unfamiliar guest in his house. Li Jain sat up and watched what the intruder was planning.

The black shadow movement was very careful , not making any noise. If it wasn't for Li Jain's strong spiritual sense, he wouldn't have known that someone entered the house.  Li Jain narrowed his eyes, trying to focus more clearly so that he could identify the intruder.

A few minutes later, the black shadow flew out of the window at an astonishing speed. It moved across the streets and rooftops, making quick work of its way down the main road out of the town.

Li Jain eyes narrowed with dangerous light  glimmering within them. He immediately activated his high level movement talismen and followed the shadow.  The black shadow didn't expect someone to follow it, so it let its guard down and slow down its speed. Just as he was about to go through the town gate, an array plate was thrown underneath him and lit up the four corners of both sides, trapping the shadow  inside of it.

The red light flash blinded the black shadow and forced it to stop moving.  Now trapped within the glowing metal cage, the dark figure looked up and glared at Li Jain through the bars of the cage.  Then it made a sudden motion and a small hole appeared on the floor where he stood.

Li Jain only smiled and watched. "There's no way out." He whispered quietly

Sure enough,  after roaming underneath the ground for a long time, the shadow came back up and found itself still trapped in the cage.

'Deam it! The ground was sealed.' The dark figure cursed internally. Then he turned into his true form. The man is dressed in black robe and has a dark mask covering his face. A strange sword is held by his waist, but instead of a scabbard, it has two curved blades which can be extended to cut anyone standing directly before it. On each side of his right leg are golden wings with three black feathers on each wing and on each wrist there are five black bracelets with red jewels hanging from the fingers.  His black hair has blue streaks in it.

'So this person is a demon.' Li Jain thought to himself.

"Who are you and what do you want?" the demon elder asked in a voice filled with demonic power.

"I should be the one asking. Who are you and what did you take from my house?"  Li Jain replied calmly, his gaze never leaving the demon in front of him.

The demon was surprised. He had been staying in this town for weeks and didn't find anyone who had higher cultivation than him, which is why he was confident that after he took action, no one would stop him. How is it possible for someone at the Spiritual Sea realm to be able to detect his presence after he had canceled his aura? It was also unusual for such a low cultivation cultivator to recognize him without using a weapon. He decided to play dumb and observe the situation.  "I'm just passing by."

Li Jain raised an eyebrow and chuckled. "Just passing by in my house?" A stranger that just passed by in someone else's house in the middle of the night? Even a dog wouldn't believe that.

The demon elder was getting annoyed  but he suppressed his annoyance thinking that Li Jain might just be curious and didn't know his purpose. "I heard about how famous your restaurant food is and just wanted to take a look. What? Is this how you treat your customers?"

The demon's elder words make Li Jain speechless. Why did it sound like he was accusing him of not being a good host?

"In the middle of the night? Since you were so curious, why didn't you stay over?" Li Jain knew the demon was lying and was in no hurry to let go. Afterall, he was certain that the other party took something with him when he left.

"Believe whatever you like." The demon elder shrugged. "I have something urgent to do and don't have the time to play with you,  kid." With those words said, the demon elder began to attack the cage, wanting to break out.

Li Jain knew from the beginning he couldn't keep someone so powerful in a cage for long. He quickly took out his compass, pointed it at the cage and chanted a spell.  Then a wall of water emerged from his hands and blocked the demon from escaping the trap.

Even if he's not able to keep the person, he should be able to detect what the other took from him.

The needle on the compass spins around crazily and points towards the demon. There was a faint glow emitting from the compass.  A small blue spot appeared on the compass, taking the shape of a small human face.

As soon as Li Jain recognized the face on the compass, his expression changed immediately. "Bastard!"  He roared and  flew towards the cage with a palm attack. The cage turned into dust from the pressure before the attack could reach the demon elder.

The demon elder was shocked and quickly used his powers to intercept the attack.  He raised his hand and formed a large shield to block the blow. But he was pushed back several inches and was caught off guard.  Li Jain quickly recovered and launched another attack.

The two fought with their bare fists , their energy exploding around the area. Both men were evenly matched.

"You may have killed me," said the demon angrily. "How could you be so reckless? You want to play a hero, I see." The demon elder underestimated Li Jain from the beginning, but after exchanging a few punches, he dared not look down on the opponent. He

released a blast of energy from his hands at Li Jain, hitting him square in the chest.

"Bastard, you released my son. Else you would be the one not getting out of here alive!"   Li Jain growled. He quickly threw several punches against the demon in quick succession.

Li Jain was very angry! If he hadn't left a mark on his children, he wouldn't have been able to tell that this demon had Yujian away!

The demon elder was surprised that Li Jain was able to figure out so soon. But he couldn't care less, he had already come too far to give up now.  He was furious. He gathered his power together once again and launched another attack at Li Jain. "This kid is to be used as my vessel. You should be wise enough not to stand in my way!"

Li Jain gritted his teeth and charged at the elder.

....

Back at the Spiritual Tavern, everyone was in a mess. How come they received so many uninvited guests tonight? Liu Xiong and Ding Weiyuan were still out on their mission. Zhou Lifen and Hou Mingyu chase after the demons that were roaming around the restaurant, leaving Bai Lian with the children.

Li Yuhan was crying at this moment while knocking on Li Jain's door. "Father, father, come out! My brother is missing, he is in danger!" His voice cracked and sobbed.

The little ones heard the noise and gathered around.
