The little ones heard the noise and gathered around.
"Brother Han, what happened to brother Jian?" Li Cheng asked. He had been hearing the commotion for a while now but he didn't think much about it until he heard his older brother cry.
"I don't know. He suddenly disappeared from the room and now he's in danger. I'm trying to contact him, but… It's blocked, I can't reach him. " Bai Lian trailed off, his eyes filled with sorrow. He never expected anything bad to happen to his brother right under their noses. But if Yujian disappeared like that…he couldn't even imagine how terrible it would be.
When the children heard this, they were horrified! Li Yuhan and Li Yujian are twins that have been connected to each other since birth. they have telepathy ability, the twin brothers can always tell when the other one is in trouble. Yujian has a telepathic transmission that they use to communicate regularly. But now, when he sent his consciousness, it was blocked by someone. And his brother was in so much pain.
Although Li Jain children love and care about each other, they were born in pairs after all. Therefore, their other half is still more important.
As twins, they understand each other's feelings more than anyone else. The fact that Yuhan had lost communication with his own brother only made the children worry. They tightly clung to pairs unconsciously.
Yuhan became even sadder when he saw this. "I must find him!" With tears running down his face, Li Yuhan ran toward the other direction. As he was about to leave the house though, someone suddenly blocked her way.
Bai Lian picks him up in his arms and comforts him: "Little master, it's dangerous outside at the moment . It's better to wait here and let your uncles handle it."
"But my brother is in danger! He is in danger!" Li Yuhan struggled to get down but his Bai Lian wouldn't budge.
Bai Lian was surprised when he heard the eldest little master was taken Kidnapped. No wonder the master anxiously chased after that person. But then again, thinking about the boundless spiritual energy the eldest little master released during his awakening, it was no wonder someone had taken interest in him.
Liu Xiong and Ding Weiyuan weren't here and he couldn't leave the chicken alone. What if the master isn't a match for that person? Bai Lian thought worriedly. He wiped Yuhan's tears with his large hand; "Little master, don't worry. The master has already gone after the person that took your brother. They'll be back anytime soon. Let's go inside and wait for them."
Yuhan felt a little calmer after getting comforted by Bai Lian and calmed down. He nodded and followed Bai Lian inside.
.....
Qingyuan town is not very big and the movement of the two people were undoubtedly large. They had been fighting for an hour or so and were both tired out by this time. However, their powers won't give in.
Li Jain felt pretty useless at the moment. He had promised the children times and again that he would protect them. Now that was in danger, if he couldn't save him. How would he face the others later? Even when he was ruthlessly killed by the people that were once good to him, he never felt this helplessness and resentment.
He had decided, if he couldn't defeat this demon tonight, he used everything he has to save Xiao Jian and dragged the other party (demon) to the death with him!
When his mind was made up, his attacks became more ruthless and ferocious.
As the battle raged on, the sounds of grunts and clashes filled the air, waking up the cultivators in Qingyuan town and those nearby. They were startled and confused as they looked up toward the sky and saw a dark mist.
Qingyuan has always been a small quiet town. Even when few cultivators got into disagreement and fought, there wasn't much impact. But today, the atmosphere turned deadly serious when a cloud of dark mist appeared at the town gate and ground started shaking violently.
Many cultivators ran toward the scene curiously. When they arrived at the scene, they saw two figures battling. They were far away so those low level cultivators couldn't distinguish between them. Unfortunately, the place was covered by a protective barrier and they couldn't go closer.
The old cultivators in Qingyuan town also came out and among them were; old man Lan of the Joyous Restaurant, old man Ling who owned the broken talisman ship and the Yan family patriarch.
"What's going on? Who dared to disturb this old man's sleep?" Old man Ling complained angrily.
"What's wrong? Has your cheap bed finally fallen apart? I've never seen a stingy old business man like you!" Old man Lan retorted angrily.
"What do you know? It's called managing. You old geezer should learn management before going bankrupt." Old man Ling said. The two old men glared at each other fiercely.
The Yan family patriarch didn't pay attention to them, he was interested in the protection barrier. "This formation is interesting. It looks somewhat similar to the array that kid has at his restaurant." He commented excitedly.
"Xiao Jain, is he here?" Old man Lan looked around. He didn't expect that brat to come here and join the fun.
"Where is he? It seems that your eyes have become as bad as your mouth. Do you see him fighting with that demon?" Old Man Ling taunted. He wanted nothing more than to see this old fart get beaten up.
Old man Lan was used to this old Ling bad mouth so he didn't pay attention to him. Instead, he focused his gaze on the two people that were fighting. Suddenly, something caught his eyes. His eyes widened in surprise. Why is that kid Li Jain fighting like that?!
Old man Ling saw what he was thinking and smirked. "The difference in strength is obvious. I don't know what happened to make the kid give up everything and put his life on the line. Is he looking for death?"
"No, we can't let him go on like this!" Old man Lan said and began to attack the barrier, trying to break through it. The other elders also join in to help.
The barrier must have been set up so that the damage of the battle wouldn't affect other areas but they didn't care at this moment.
Li Jain didn't use a sword when he fought with the demon. He didn't want to give any room for the other party to escape. They fought in close combat
Li Jain seems like a mad person at the moment, his movements were vicious and aggressive like a beast. The demon elder was shocked, he didn't expect to run into such a mad person. If he'd known this would happen, he would've planned everything more carefully. Now that his followers hadn't come to help yet, they must have encountered some trouble as well.
Well, it was too late to retreat now.
When the barrier finally broke, and the cultivators rushed in, the battle was already over. Li Jain had already killed the demon. Tons of talisman and array formations were used. His attacks were so deadly that the demon soul was cut into pieces.
He stood next to the body with his chest heaving with exertion as he wiped the blood from his face. The demon lay lifeless at his feet, a look of disbelief frozen on his twisted features.
Without a word, Li Jain walked over to the demon's storage and opened it, revealing his son bound and unconscious inside. With trembling hands, he lifted the boy out and cradled him close; "I'm glad you're ok." Tears of relief streamed down his face. He was so worried earlier.
It was then that the truth of the situation began to sink in. The demon had kidnapped Li Jain's son in an attempt to possess him, using the boy as an empty vessel. But Li Jain had refused to let his son be taken away, putting everything he had on the line to protect him.
Li Jain has received many injuries from the fight. While leaving, his steps were unstable and his heart throbbed painfully because of every step. However, he continued forward. He can't give up yet, there was still demonic energy surrounding the child and he had to force it out before it became fatal.
